Poll: 9-7 or 10-6 and no playoffs or 5-11 and higher draft pick?

I played sports from T-Ball until age caught up to me. I would much rather win, than lose. In fact, if anyone even mentioned tanking for the future, they would not live to see that future.

 

Winning begets winning. Losing begets losing.

Playoffs is best, high pick is secondary.  I see no value in earning neither.

I don't know much about Luke's situation right now but without him our Defense is in trouble. Our Offense better be prepared for a shoot out every game and if they're not we have no chance in hell to win out.

We aren't good enough to win the SuperB owl, but add some rookies, and we are good? Um...ok then.

 

I can just see it now. Rivera addressing the team. "Well guys, the playoffs look like a long shot, so Dave and I have decided to lose out for a better draft pick." The team would quit on him, and his effectiveness as a coach is nullified.

 

No player, that has spent his entire life training to get to the NFL is going to be okay with losing on purpose.

 

Now if we play hard and lose, that is a mule of a different color. I'll take the high pick under those circumstances.

Im the type of person that anytime we step out on that field, I want a win. We could be 1-14 and Id still want a win in that last game even at the expense of draft positions. The draft is never a guarantee and even if you have a top pick they may not be as good as a person picked near the bottom.

I don't think we beat both the Raiders and the Seahawks in back to back weeks on the road without Luke. We put ourselves in this position it's just too much of a hole to climb out of. We probably finish around 8-8 and the coaching staff will once again point to going 7-3 in the last ten games like they didn't start 1-5.

That's sort of what I'm thinking too. I think we have a better chance of winning the division then the wild card. Only problem is ATL has a pretty soft schedule the rest of the way.

I will take the wins. Esp if this team can end at 9-7 or better. The carry over to the next season for teams that finish like that is usually good especially when it's the Panthers.
