The ramifications of Luke's injury are enormous.

Enough with the knee jerk reactions already. Luke was shaken up, and very well could have been upset because he knew he would be missing some time. This concussion protocol is a good thing. He's not going to be sent back out there until he's ready. Junior Seau had, like 50 concussions. Luke has had 2. Can we please stop talking about the end of his career and Dan Morgan etc. until we at least get a few facts?

Has anyone stopped to consider we are all overreacting because of how Luke looked after the injury?

Maybe. I'm worried because sometimes people just know. I fear a reaction like that from the toughest dude in the game means something.

I know what you mean...I'm trying to make myself feel better. I refuse to believe we will lose a future HOF'er like this given that some of the most talented guys we have ever had have been lost because of injury, including Morgan and Beason. Beason played on but still. Same with DeShaun Foster. Injuries stole his talent. Jeff Otah was the second coming of Willie Anderson. I truly believe David Gettis could have been a number 1 receiver. Non-injury, think of losing Hardy.

We can't lose Luke like this. I'd trade Cam a 100 times before Luke. With all this said, we better extend AJ Klein. Luke he is not, but we can't afford a Witherspoon/Chris Draft departure. Klein could start for a lot of teams and I've been wanting to keep him around anyway but more for TD insurance. Shaq is the TD replacement but my thought has been Klein becomes the third LB. I like David Mayo but I haven't seen enough to have a thought.

When the brain sustains a serious concussion, it gets all scrambled and reverts to basic survival instincts like breathing. That's why we saw Luke struggling to breath. We were watching his brain do a HARD reset.

Not to say he may or may not have a serious brain injury (im sure we are all praying that isnt the case)...but allow me also to play internet doctor for a moment and ask: When does the brain NOT send signals to breathe? Do men and women( not excluding football players) struggle to breathe when they get punched in the solar plexis, have an asthma attack, get scared by a ghost, near miss a car accident, or 1,000 other cases in their life when they find themselves overcome with emotions that are not a result of brain scramble as you put it?

I may be wrong, but im gonna believe ( just because i want to) that it isn't all that serious. That pic with TD was a huge breathe of relief ( pun intended) for all of us....and I like to think that if he were as bad off as the camera show and all these people are speculating about....he wouldn't have be able to hang out in a wild ass confusing lockeroom for such a picture. If he were THAT serious....no doctor in the world would have let him be anywhere near such motion/emotion/movement...etc.

Im honestly split, I want Luke to have a long sustainable career, but these things literally drive people to suicide and premature death. Luke's one tough son of a bitch, but Morgan was also well on his way to the hall of fame before saying enough is enough. It's scary all around, man. I don't trust Gordell to protect his league's quarterbacks, concussion health & safety seems like another wasted exercise from the league as well.
