The ramifications of Luke's injury are enormous.

Not a single Panthers will retire at the end of the year. Not even Oher. Calm down.

If you think that there is zero chance that Oher retires, you may want to rethink that. He has been out almost 2 months. He may never come back.

We probably won't see the aftershocks of this era of football for another 20 years. When all the information about the long term effects of football trickles down to the small towns across the country, football will change. All the mothers of potential players who see these concussions take their toll will think twice before letting their son play football. When people keep seeingwhat happened to Luke last night, and will continue to happen, that will change things.

There are too many kids like TD, where football is there only way out. Football is their escape. They are willing to take the chance of injury to provide for their family.

Yes there will be parents that won't let their kids play, but there a poo ton of kids out there that need football. If only for the education college provides, and not the money of the NFL. But the NFL is still the dream for a lot of under privileged kids.

I believe Kuechly's concussion occurred on the play before his exit from the game.  Does anyone have the game recorded to verify this?  He made a tackle on the sideline, and stumbled a bit when he tried to get up.  I believe he tried to play through the concussion but quickly resided to the fact that he needed to leave the game.

He was not touched on the previous play. He was trailing the play. When he planted to stop, his foot slipped. It wrenched either his knee, or his ankle. But he was not hit, nor did he contact the ground.

Abnormally tall 300 pound monsters wont have a calling anymore.

What could they use besides flags?  I say two hand touch and they can have replays to see if both hands made contact.

They could just get rid of lineman and wear flags.

I guess I should have put a, lol in there so you wouldn't have to fly off the handle. All I did was ask if you quoted yourself. I had no ulterior motive.

Hellz, I could care less if you don't like Cam. Lot's of...folks... don't like Cam. For the life of me, I have no reason why someone would hate the kid. His enthusiasm and talent is a breath of fresh air. So so so soo sooooo glad he is my QB.

Saw this in another forum:

Quote

Pseudobulbar affect (PBA), emotional lability, labile affect, or emotional incontinence is a type of affect characterized by involuntary crying or uncontrollable episodes of crying and/or laughing, or other emotionaldisplays.[1] PBA occurs secondary to a neurologic disorder or brain injury. Patients may find themselves crying uncontrollably at something that is only moderately sad, being unable to stop themselves for several minutes. Episodes may also be mood-incongruent: a patient might laugh uncontrollably when angry or frustrated, for example. Sometimes, the episodes may switch between emotional states, resulting in the patient crying uncontrollably before dissolving into fits of laughter.

Oh, I member. I ain't that old. Well, maybe I am that old, but I still have my short term memory. You let your frustration for Cam get the best of you. When seasons go south fans get antsy. You can talk about Cam all you want, I won't stop you. As long as your emotions don't get in the way, I'm good. Cuz I ain't that old. Well maybe I am that old.

Age is a state of mind. If I can avoid mirrors, I feel like a kid. I can do almost everything I used to, and some things I am better at. Just let me park my scooter, and I'll show you a thing or two. I tell ya what.

The wife is 15 years younger than me, and I can still keep up with her. Mostly...Age is a state of mind,

And I have probably forgotten more football than some of these whippersnappers up in here ever knew.

What were we talking about? Oh yeah, I ain't old. OK, define old? I am on Medicare, so yeah, I'm old.

Dang, and I WAS having a pretty good day. Thanks @tiger7_88 thanks a whole lot.

    • No one is asking him to be Tom Brady. They're just asking him to be as good if not better than Cooper Rush, Jimmy Garoppolo and Carson Wentz. We'd like Young to be better than Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield, but we're not even asking for that. No matter how you cut it he's going to be considered a bust for what was given up for him. He should be outpacing Cam Newton, Jake Delhomme and Kerry Collins game for game in their careers. He should at least be challenging the clutch level of Brady, Mahomes, Stafford, Goff, Garoppolo, Burrow, Hurts and Purdy. Remember that's based on the draft capital given up for Young, and not the extremely low bar Young has actually set for himself.
    • Even if you cherry pick Bryce post benching and ignore everything else and project it out over a full season….. there is no statistical  argument Kyler has ever been worse.   I’m no Murray fan as I agree he is more athlete than QB.   And I’m open to Bryce improving and support us continuing to develop him as this point.
    • We need LBs--build the roster from the bottom up.  On offense, we have Coker who has been huge...if you fill your weaknesse without having to use free agent $$$ or draft picks--win win.
