sit him for as long as he needs- then sit him another week or two

Might as well just IR him and see him next year...

Luke also might be smart enough to walk away.  Can't mess with the brain.  Not all players handle hits the same.  Just watching his eyes...never seen someone look like that after a hit

Looking at the play again...

He took an upper cut like shot, and it was followed by a severe shot to the back of his head from Thomas Davis. You can see and hear the impact at real time. You can also see his head whip from the impact by TD.

His brain was thrust toward his brain stem/pons from the hit to the lower part of his helmet with upward momentum and then the brain was thrust to the back of his skull near the right occipital region of the brain.

This would explain the convulsion like problems, heart rate, and possible breathing issues (pons) and the staring, focus, and watering of the eyes (occipital).

He may have just received bruising to two separate areas of his brain.

TD's helmet grazed Keek's helmet. The concussion was caused by the RB imo.

It was from both. The hit from TD is square to the back right of Kuechly's helmet. You can see in real time Kuechly's head whip forward and you can hear the impact to the helmet on the audio. The opposite angle shows the direct contact too.

I feel confident that the dump truck blow to the front of his helmet was the cause, and the love tap from TD didn't do anything, but no one knows for sure.

Say what you want about the NFL, the protocol has probably helped a lot of guys brains.

Its not the concussions that turn your brain to mush. It's the repeated hits to the head after a concussion has happened. Luke will probably be out for at least 3-4 weeks, but should be ok long term.

That being said, I'd sure like to see a better angle of how he looked on the play right before. If he got concussed on that play and then got hit again immediately following, that could be very bad. It looked like he just got his toe stepped on so I am holding out hope.

from what I saw and remember it looked like he was cramping. It seemed as tho he was trying to stretch out his leg.

I really think he was just exhausted. No one is mentioning it but I bet that 90yard touchdown return and three straight 3 n outs for the offense had something to do with it.

From somebody who has had three concussions, including one that had me freak out like that, that's a concussion. Can see it in his eyes. The trauma mixed with the confusion and fear of "what just happened?" is all over his face. Sit him until he's 100% for sure, so at least a month. Just my opinion.

I agree with your post

The only thing I might add is that the way he looked almost looked like he couldn't see that well and was trying to regain focus in his vision. could be wrong but visual disturbances are very common with concussions
