Luke Injury

Ok, I couldn't read past page two.

I can't believe we have dumb mother fugers who think a concussion is a good thing. You're dumb as fug if you think so.

You can rehab a knee. You can't rehab your brain. That's a person we're talking about. How can someone seriously say they'd prefer Luke to have scrambled eggs as brains the rest of his life over taking a few months to work out a connective tissue injury?

Football has slowly become more difficult to watch for me the past few years, but this year with Cam and Luke has accelerated that process exponentially.  I fear that down the line I may look back at 2016 as my own personal tipping point.

I told my coworker the same thing.

They don't care about Cam or whoever the league deems not fit.

The concussion protocol should have been years ago.

The league needs to review safety gear because with this 'increased/improved' safety gear over the years, the more violent the sport has become. Football pushes human bodies to the limit. NFL has become NASCAR waiting for the wreck that boost ratings.

I have stopped caring about college sports and about done with professional.

Not gonna read the whole thread, but all I could think about, watching his reaction, that he might have lost his vision for a bit after...

I hope that isn't the case, but that is really what it looked like to me, as a viewer... that he wasn't seeing clearly or even at all temporarily. That would scare the poo out of anyone.

This why I think fans are stupid for whining about players not taking paycuts. Football demands a lot and you gotta get your money while you can. it can all end in a instant/one play. it's sad people don't understand this till you see a player laying on the ground gasping as if is life is flashing in front of his eyes.

That was my thought.  The hit from TD was to the back / side of his head.  The look on his face didn't strike me as pain ... more fear /concern or not fully grasping what was happening.  I hate that for him and hope for a speedy / full recovery.  Will be checking back several times today for updates.

Kids are wearing their '59' jerseys today.

Yeah I didn't see it as struggling to breathe... It looked like a panic attack to me, and the way he just kind of stared off without focusing on anything or anyone did not look good.

I really hope he didn't lose sight at all, even partially, for any amount of time. If he did, and it were me in that situation, it would make me question whether I ever wanted to suit up again.

Very scary no matter what it was, but I think it looked like he lost his eyesight for at least a moment.

One of my greatest fears is being realized..  He's got money, great people around him, and a huge future ahead..  if I were him I'd retire.  Its a brutal game and most people arent built like Ray Lewis and London Fletcher.  Nothing this sport offers is worth the effects.  This isn't being a war hero or a martyr for the people you love.  This is fuging entertainment

Pray it's a concussion.

It is OK to be a fan, it is even OK to pretend to understand the game, but when I read something this void of understanding, I strongly suggest the person typing it find a new past time.  My concern is this:  His career can be over---I doubt it, but it is a career-ending injury.  I played in college and had 3 concussions--back in the day, you got the smelling sauce and put back in the game, and it was funny when you went to the wrong huddle or sideline.  I never saw someone who was having trouble breathing due to a head injury before.  Pray it was NOT a severe concussion, but do not be surprised if his season is over.
