Luke Injury

It is definitely not a leg injury.  Was at the game and the trainers spent no time at all on his lower half.

If you disregard the Panthers report of concussion eval and just look at the video - my guess would be chest injury.

Might he a concussion but he never seems to lose consciousness - hand immediately goes to chin strap after play, goes to his knees, then lays down in his back.  Was talking to the docs as soon as they arrived.

However, he seemed to instantly have trouble breathing (breathing very heavily when he first went to his back).  A chest injury would be both painful and may cause hyperventilation / involuntary crying which fits his reaction.

Those things also fit a concussion but the brunt of the blow was to his chest.  Also the docs carted him off (which is uncommon for a concussion).  Further, it looked at one point like the trainer was trying to listen to him breathe. You could have heard a pin drop in the stadium, so I don't think he was leaning in because he was struggling to communicate with Luke.

Really hope he's okay.  That was scary.

so we should've IR'd Cam? What about Luke last year? What about any other player that experiences one of the most common football injuries you can acquire?

That's sensationalist and dumb, especially prior to knowing anything about it.

There are injuries every game, but very few are concussions. We lost Kalil, Johnson, and Kb for a while. Not one of them were a concussion.

Folks are concerned for Luke, and you still have to be a condescending jerk. C'mon man. Give it a rest, folks are worried.

You can go back to being the smartest person in the room later. K?

honestly looks can be really deceiving. I mean Michael Oher has been out for 6 weeks and I cannot even specifically tell you what hit caused the concussion. Sometimes the blows that don't look that serious can be the most damaging.

It looked like TD accidentally hit him in the helmet though it looks like the brunt came from the hit to his chest. Either way, a chest injury or concussion, I hate seeing Luke like that. He is the heart and soul of our defense along with TD and know it had to hurt his pride to leave the game like that. I hope he has a fast and healthy recovery.

Here's the play - helmet to the face then down into his chest. Really hard to watch this whole thing again.

I was at the game, so this is the first time I'm seeing what actually happened. I held my hand over my mouth watching that entire clip just now. HATE seeing him like that.

Even in the stadium when he went down, there was just this weird feeling. It was as if all attention shifted from wanting to win the game to "Dear, God. Let this man be okay." Then when we saw the cart coming out...jeez.

Hate to see this happen to any player, but a guy like Luke who puts his heart and soul into every play? Heartbreaking. Really hope he's okay.
