If Gettleman hired his own coach, would you trust he'll make the right decision?

Oh come on. Let's over dramatize this season. Dismantled? Yeah, we threw away the season before it started because fans think we did, or didn't, do what they wanted.

 

If you are Ron, or Gman, sitting in your office after the SuberB owl. The ONLY thing you are worried about is...? What? Draft well, let the kids grow, and we can be just as good. The ONE thing you aren't thinking is....this ship is going to sink.

 

This season comes down to one thing. Winning the close games. Last year we won the close games, and won the not so close games.

 

The difference between winning and losing in the NFL is luck. A play goes your way, and you win. A play goes against you, and you lose. As much as fans hate to admit it, it comes down to  that last play. Stop it, and you are hero's, make it you are hero's, don't make it, or don't stop it, and you are the goat

 

Game winning drives? Not this year.

 

Game winning stop? Not this year.

 

Game winning kick? Not this year.

 

Blame Ron. Blame Gman. Blame Shula. Blame Cam. Blame the baby sitter Who cares.

 

One game it is this. One game it is that. One game it is the other.

 

If you look at this team and see a loser, that is fine. If you look at this team and see talent not fulfilled, that is fine. But if you think there is ONE definitive reason this year sux. You are kidding yourself.

 

Pointing fingers is lazy, and totally unproductive. Because there is more to the problem than just "If we had only done this".

 

tl/dr version. There is a fundamental flaw on this team. It is not a "This is the problem" year.

 

Forgive the rant. But I just felt it had to be said. There is not ONE reason we stink this year, there is a myriad of problems plaguing this team.

it would be an utter travesty if Gettleman is let go before he has the opportunity to hire his own coach. Take jerry Richardson out of the picture, who is but far hands down the number one problem with this franchise, Ron Rivera is clearly the second biggest issue.

as mentioned before, having a good 2 first years following a bad GM doesn't make you good.  If it did Marty Hurney would still be here. 

I was first specific about why and it dealt with his last 2 offseasons

Our defense was dismantled. Secondary completely trashed and it helped mask our lack of DEs last year. 

Just because Cam and KB lost the KC game for us and we could of won it ...doesn't mean Gettlemen didn't send this team backwards this offseason by a significant margin. Same applies to games like Tampa.  Just because we have been in games and imploded doesn't somehow mean that Gettlemen making this team go backwards this year is irrelevant.  Tampa game was an ugly slopfest we should of won because our team got much weaker. If we had last years defense we wouldn't of come down to Anderson on the goal line being the game.  Game would have been put away before then and they wouldn't be completed 2 WR routes vs our D to win it

I do like Reich, but to be clear the reason I mention him is less because he's my choice than because I feel like he'd be Gettleman's choice.

Gettleman was a scout in Buffalo while Reich was backing up Jim Kelly.

Kyle Shanahan is also a possibility but not as much of one, in my opinion.

I have been against firing Ron, but I'm starting to come around on the idea a little, especially if he doesn't send Shula packing.

 

For the first time that I can remember, I'm ready for an offensive minded head coach.  I feel that defensive HC's are typically better, but it's probably time for a change up in Charlotte.

Bring in the best offensive minded HC there is out there, try to keep McD if possible, if not, bring in the best 43 coach you can to keep this D a top unit, focus on the next ST hire....we have been bad at ST for a while now.

Sean and Drew pushed the Saints to a SB, Kubs and Wade Phillips just did the same....may be time for a shake up.
