Loss or not, the Salute To Service theme is aways cool to see and means a lot to a lot of people, including myself.

Here's some Salute To Service photos from Sunday, as well as photos from the first half. Let's forget the second half.

thankfully we didn't have anything else to spend those tax dollars on

Just a fun fact of the day, I'm an active duty Marine. I held one of those stripes that Sunday. No tax dollars went into that presentation. All of us (service members and families of the fallen heroes that were honored) drove with OUR own money and free will. We wanted to be there, we wanted to honor those men and women. The closest thing to tax dollars being used was the fly over, which by the way all pilots have to make a quota on flight hours, so adding in a timed flight path over the Bank of
America stadium is no big deal. Also, us service members pay taxes, pay for our health and dental, pay for our housing and quartering, pay for our food, and pay for our uniforms. Nothing is free or handed over, we pay for  everything  just like all of you do. If you do.

That must be a new policy, and it's good to hear. In previous years the Pentagon has paid millions to the NFL to promote the military.

Yeah but JR has never taken the money. He's always paid out of pocket for the presentations. There were a few articles about it last year.
