Will you be watching the game Thursday?

Anyone not watching now is a fair weather fan, point blank period. If you can't stomach to watch them after a Super bowl run, we don't need you

this is still 10x more enjoyable than watching the Carr/Clausen era of Carolina.  Those were actual bad times.   I mean, any given Sunday we legitimately  can beat any team since we have Cam/Luke.  There was a time when you knew a good game simply could not be played from an entertainment standpoint.

Take your GF, Wife, Mistress, Boyfriend, or whatever to watch it Thursday night. You'll enjoy it. Trust me.

Sorry, have an important football game to watch. Why don't you take the time to go buy some Cowboys merchandise or something, k?

Many of us prioritize our time around watching the Panthers. It's football season right? Only 16 chances to watch our favorite team go at it for a short sliver of the year.

I haven't missed watching a Panthers game by choice since 2001. Obviously I've missed games for situations out of my control (work, travel, etc). Even in 2010 I tuned in for all the games I could. That year was easier to understand. I knew the Panthers were bad. It was comical and I knew better days were coming.

I don't feel that way this year. This year is hard to understand. I could rail off a list of reasons, but something is seriously wrong with the team this season. This is a team that went 15-1, featured the MVP of the league, and appeared in the Super Bowl just a season ago. I am struggling to watch what was such an exciting team unravel into an inexplicable mess. So this Thursday, I will not be watching the game.

I honestly don't care if the team wins or loses at this point. If they win, great. I'm not any more or less of a fan. If they lose, I've saved myself the time and emotional turmoil of watching another embarrassing Panthers loss.

Call me fair-weather or what you will, but I need a break from this team. I'll probably watch the following week. Will you be watching this Thursday?

I agree with you on all counts except that I won't stop watching. Like you, I'm emotionally checked out... but I could never stop watching. I'll love them forever.

I'll be in the stands cheering my ass off...the same way I did when we went 1-15,2-14, 8-8, 15-1, 11-5...doesn't matter.   Will I be emotionally drained after this season?  You bet your ass I will be, but this is my favorite sports team by far and the day that we actually do win a Super Bowl, I'll be able to look back and say, "Ya know what...it was fuging worth it!"

As a life-time Lions fan, I say poo to any of you that don't watch the Panthers. You cannot call yourself a fan, if you have better things to do that watch your team. I am not talking responsibilities, those happen. That's why God made the DVR. But to purposefully miss a game? No fan does that.

If you can find something more enjoyable than watching Thur. nite. You should turn in your fan card, lose your right to complain, and should be forced to admit that you only care when we win.

If you watched every 01 game, you may be a fan.

If you make sure your chores are done, so you can watch the game. You may be a fan.

If the wife prances in front of you in her unmentionables, because she is jealous of the game. You may be a fan.

If your family, and friends, know not to bother you during the game. You may be a fan.

If you are not going to watch, just because we MAY lose. You ain't no fan.

Rant over, and thanks for watching.

I will be there Thursday night.  Can't make it to the game on Christmas Eve so only 2 more home games for me.

Three generations of my family attended yesterday.  Me, my brother, my niece, and her 3 year old son (his 1st game).  We had fun.  My great-nephew had a great time even with the showers and cold. For me attending games is much more than wins/losses.  I always say 'It is fun but fun-er when Panthers win.'

    • Hey guys, remember when we won those meaningless games in 2010 and it cost us the #1 pick and the chance to draft Cam? Oh.... right I get that's more of an extreme example because it got us a HOF caliber QB.  But it's the general concept, you want to win late season games when you have the pieces in place to make a run the next season, we currently are not in that place. Herbert and Sewell are the ones I point to so much, because we literally lost out on 2 franchise different makers by 1 draft slot.  Give us those two players while we still have CMC, Moore, and the rest of the picks we gave up for Bryce, and we'd have been a legit playoff contender the last few years. Draft position matters in the NFL more than any other sport (other than the #1 pick in the NBA in a year with a generational talent).
    • It’s so crazy. If we had a shot for pick 1 and there was some generational player there then yeah maybe I could get behind the draft position argument. I’d say most GMs and coaches aren’t diving into the draft right now. They are trying to win games.
