Make The Panthers Great Again 2017 - 3 things that need to change

Not arguing with you. I never said DG didn't do ANYTHING about it. But when Cam continues to get hit more than any other QB in the pocket, something isn't working. We've had opportunities to upgrade at the most important position on the offensive line (LT) and have failed to do so. Patch working at that position isn't acceptable. Like I said, we have a great core of guys which does include the OL. Norwell, Trai, and more than likely Williams. Yet, Cam is still getting murdered in the pocket. What is your solution to that? If we ever do spend some money, protecting Cam better needs to be a priority.

You dont think williams will go to the bench when Oher is back?  Think again, we all know Rivera

Should I mention Daryl Williams has been consistently the best graded RT from our oline lately?

Not to mention he was rated #1 RT during the 2015 preseason.

Oher is a starter for many other teams. He could be upgraded, but it's not that big an issue.

Or should we roll Nate Chandler and Byron Bell?

Acting like DG never did anything for the oline is about as delusional as it gets.

We still need to groom a future LT and C  but more importantly we need to get a 2nd TE that can run block and catch .

1st round pick OJ Howard / Royce Freeman

Delusional. While Dave Gettleman drafts a pro bowl RG in Trai, has a promising RT in Daryl, a SOLID LG UDFA in Norwell, and a servicable Oher at LT, we have a top 5 oline.

When healthy, we have a good OLine. You guys are beyond hilarious.

Williams got absolutely abused today, and Oher isn't getting any younger . OL needs upgrades, just about every position aside the obvious ones need a reasonable upgrade.

We need a player maker in the secondary, whether S or Cb we need a ballhawk or SS who's going to hit stick everything that moves. Offense we need a guy who can consistently beat man coverage, and catch consistently. Depending on how Daryl finishes the season we may need to upgrade both T spots if possible, De shouldn't be off the list either or CB.

At 100% health we have weak starting OT play.  Cam allows it not to be a disaster.

My fixes are the same as the offseason.

1.  Improve DEs

2.  Improve DBs

3.  Improve OTs

after that we need a Ginn replacement and depth behind Stewart.

Not sure we should expect it this offseason when Dave refused this past offseason to touch a single need

The Shula stuff is comical.  He has called games that easily could have us with 1 loss this season.  Our debacled season has come down to players

And you're beyond stupid if you think this OL is any good.

Lets visit the back to back plays where Williams and Turner both completely whiff on their blocks resulting in back to back sacks and forcing a punt.

Or how about all the millions of times Stewart gets the ball and needs to break 2-3 tackles just to get a single yard. There isn't a running back in the league that works harder for their yards than Stewart.

Top 5 OL lol! You can't be serious.

Almost comical when you can't see a problem at all. We scored no points in the second half. We had a 10 minute drive and instead of realizing that we just needed to make sure we finish it with a FG once we got to their 20 is amazing. Instead of ensuring that that great drive gets us up by 3 scores and ends the 3rd quarter we call 3 stupid plays to lose 20 yards and change the momentum.

The play calls need to adjust. You need to know that 17 would be enough to win when the D has given up 3 points in 3 quarters.

Shula has called games that have helped us get to 3-6. He has called some great drives (or Cam has made great plays like that pass to Dickson or Funchess) but then he has made some abysmal play calls like 3 runs and give it back to Tampa since we rather let their kicker miss the game winner. Oops, he made it.

You are so blinded by the Gettleman hate that you think that Shula has overcome that to almost be 8-1. Sorry, but you are completely wrong. He's fuged up enough to get us to 3-6.

You can't scheme around glaring problems for 4 quarters when you face a well built team.  What they do is simply figure out how you are trying to survive given your issues and then counter it.  The key here is ONE team doesn't have the talent holes in the scenario.

Shula's gameplan was good enough to beat Denver, good enough to beat NO, good enough to beat Tampa and good enough to KC and Minny.   We lost those games because of roster talent.   Dave fugged us.

Wrong, completely wrong. Did he miss a FG and waste timeouts?Did DG throw two INTs in the end zone on first and goall? Did he call three straight passes to take us out of FG range instead of extending the lead to two TDs and a FG in the 4th quarter against a QB who's never thrown for 3 TDs in a quarter and has only had 1 3TD game since October 2014? Did he call 3 straight runs with a couple minutes left to stall our game winning drive only to watch the other team get enough time since we called a timeout for them and let them kick a game winning FG. He didn't block someone in the back to take away a TD or take a sack/INT when we were in FG range against Minnesota to close the half. He didn't coach the piss poor punt return team. Somehow I think you think he probably told the refs to hold all the flags against Cam.

If we lost those games due to roster talent then we would never have been in the Super Bowl last year. You are just stubborn or your are a troll, which is weird as a moderator.

your only emphasis is on what happened in a certain situation and ignoring that the situation they found themselves in should not of existed to begin with.   Both are relevant discussions.  Let's say you are team X and in 2015 you have the best QB in the NFL and coast to a win by 14 pts almost every game.  2016 you trade away that QB and downgrade and now find yourself in totally different games.  Every game is now a comeback attempt by a weaker QB.  He throws a INT in the endzone as time expires to lose by 3.  The downgraded QB is at fault for that loss given he had a chance to win it.  HOWEVER, you can't ignore the fact your team opted to downgrade and now find themselves in situations dictated by the roster moves.

you seem to be assuming that I don't blame Anderson for the INT on the 1?  I do.  I however also think it is relevant to discuss how the team that was trying to battle it out that game shouldn't have even existed.  I mean the next series we had  7 guys in coverage covering 2 WRs.  They couldn't.   Anderson's pick was a one time mistake.  We like to act like that mistake determined the game.  There are lots of reoccurring mistakes happening over and over in every game.  The roster management this offseason DOES have a lot to do with those.  The Anderson INT stands out.  One play often does.  I would argue it is all the small ones repeated over and over and week after week that really determine the outcome of games.

this is a message board.  people have different views on lots of situations.  Thinking Dave's offseason has a lot to do with the team that has taken the field in 2016 and the scenarios they have found themselves in, is not a unique thought to myself.  You don't have to agree with it.   This is the correct format for people to voice opinions pending they do so like big boys and girls.

yes, I am a moderator.  yes, I am allowed to still use the message board as it is intended to be used.

Offense needs a true #1 WR and #2 TE along with an actual blocking FB. Interior line is fine, but we need better tackle depth. Turner also needs to be OC.

CB is where I want us to be active in FA. We need a solid vet to step in and be an outside CB. DE we can address in the draft.

Winner right here. I love KB but he is not a number 1. He is a very good number 2. Bradberry will be very good but I'm not sold that Worley is a starter
