Greg Olsen

Can we stop running him with just a seam route down the field every time he goes out for a pass? The TE is supposed to be the outlet guy when the pressure is coming in hot. It seems like we try taking advantage when the opposing team is bringing the heat by trying to run long developing routes to eat up big yards. It makes no sense, all game I feel we miss used Olsen, and its the same feeling I've had for three weeks in a row now. He's an elite TE who should be getting 8-10 receptions a game, and forcing these teams not to blitz. Take what the defense gives you and stop trying to make the 25 yard play, especially when you have Kalil and Oher out. Olsen should be eating these defenses alive underneath, but the play calling is just not there.

Can someone tell me if I am wrong on this? Were not his first two passes short of the first down? Was not his drop a simple 10 yard sit down? Not every pattern by Greg is down the seam. I guess those are the ones folks remember. Not all the other ones.

You are right, not every play is a seam. I just wish we would run more crossers, as much as we get blitzed that would kill defenses.

Slants and crossing routes. We did a bunch of slants today. But I don't remember a whole lot of crossing routes. Defenders get picked, and cover the wrong guy when you cross patterns.

Heck, throw in those screen passes we don't seem to like as a way to slow down a rush. And no, not those goofy azz bubble screens either. Although, a good bubble screen on first down can get you 4-5 yards. Keeping you ahead of the chains.

Ah hellz, this is nothing we all don't harp about already. But it was nice to see all those slants today.

    • stats sort of tell partial truths though.  I mean, two RBs could average 5 yards a carry.  That alone doesn't mean they have run similar.   Those 3 offenses are vastly different on the year and what they ask of the QB.
    • I have never seen so many people who know absolutely nothing about football and high level QB play speak with such assured confidence while spewing absolute nonsense. I'm thankful as a PSL owner most fans who actually care enough to show up to BOA aren't that stupid (probably couldn't afford tickets otherwise) along with actual football people.  I try to think the best of people, but some of these threads have the intellectual discourse level of baboons flinging feces... Bryce is playing franchise QB level ball, and has been for weeks against playoff teams. Most of these haters are incels who will never admit being wrong about anything. If I never got laid I might harbor irrational hatred towards others also. But Jesus Christ what a miserable effing way to live... and we as a society have legitimized these people and encouraged them to be the loudest and dumbest versions of themselves... I'm thankful some of the people on this board still have triple digit IQs this holiday season
    • There was once a guy who stocked shelves at a grocery store who turned out pretty good.  Not saying he's destined for the hof but football players can come from anywhere
