Time For a Complete Coaching Change?

6 years. It's been 6 years to evaluate this coaching staff as to whether they have what it takes to WIN a superbowl. I've seen enough. Continued failure after the 1st half, ZERO in-game adjustments, constant time management failure, and constant lack of focus and discipline from our players game to game. Sometimes you have to make hard decisions to break through to the top (Denver, Bucs, Ravens, etc.) Gettleman still has a longer leash, but if he has another offseason like this one, his ass will be on the hot seat too.

So what say you, do you think it's time for a complete overhaul coaching change, or just certain coaches (cough cough.......Shula)?

No. Only Shula and ST need to go.

Nobody fires a head coach and keeps his staff.

If Rivera is sent packing, the assistants can basically interview with the next head coach but there's no guarantee.

Ownership reportedly asked Rivera to keep Sam Mills III when he took over so that could happen again, but I doubt anyone else is safe (I suppose Proehl is possible).

Not even Dorsey? I know HCs have their own folks in mind though. We just need a change.

To be honest though. Most HCs have to scramble to put a staff together. Very rarely are all the guys he would want are available. He may get some, but the chances are slim a new HC would have his staff ready to go.

That said. I really does depend on who we get. An Offensive minded coach may want to keep McDerp, because he already knows the team. Not sure how much sway that has, but it could be a consideration. But a Defensive minded coach may want his own DC.

Not sure many, if any, on Ron's staff would be retained by any new HC.

Listen to me talking about life after Ron. Not sure I even want him gone yet.

Makes sense.

You know deep down inside, you want Ron gone because you can't take another slow start and have to panic the rest of the season LOL

Ronnie's time is up. He does a poor job at time management, no 2nd half adjustments, no creativity on offense, constantly calling time-outs at the wrong time. And most of all he shows a lack of urgency as a head coach so the team plays that way. He's a likeable person just not a championship caliber head coach. Like John Fox said "it is what it is."

My main objection to replacing the winningest coach in Panther history is; Who do you get to replace him. Besides all the obvious questions, you have to figure out if you want an Offensive, or Defensive minded coach? How many guys out there can you truly trust? Do you get a retread coach? Or do you grab an up and comer?

Ron has his flaws. But he wins more often than he loses, and the players seem to adore him. He and Gman have the same philosophy, and talk football all the time. Will the next coach have that same relationship?

Make the wrong choice, and Ron looks good. Make the right choice, and Ron is a foot-note. But don't kid yourself. The decision is a massive undertaking. One, I am just not sure we need to make at this point.

I will say that even I am anxious to see how this off-season works out. Cuz next year could be a make or break year for not only Ron, but Gman as well. Although, I don't see Gman as being in any danger. He has a few years yet to prove his plan works.

And yes, I do realize I am in the minority right now. But hey, I live surrounded by a slew of hillbilly in laws. So I am used to being the minority.
