Ive seen plenty of coaches "in the modern era" just run the ball in that situation.  Especially against teams with a pass rush like KC when we have a patchwork O-line.

The KC pass rush wasn't an issue with the short passes before that. Playcalling only asked for 2-3 seconds to get rid of the ball. Williams and then Turner were beat on consecutive plays faster than 2-3 seconds. That's not on the OC. Players have to be held accountable.

All he contributed were 5 touchdowns. Honest

Yep, another running back on that team also contributed 5 TDs.

Mario Fannin.

Michael Dyer scored as much as The Great Mario Fannin in 2010.

Whereas Cam Newton had MORE rushing TDs in 2010 than Michael Dyer, Mario Fannin, and Onterrio McCalebb combines.

You want to keep on trying to teach me lessons about that 2010 Auburn team?  I'm game to keep this up if you want to.

Okay well no more arguing, but we are standing at 3-6 when if we kick the FG right there we are a 4-5 team.

Yet again, dishonest.

Dyer was a FRESHMAN All-American.

He didn't even sniff a chance of being an actual All-American.

Speaking of changing your argument, I was responding to the, as you called it, "tripe," when you said Cam took "a zero team Auburn" and won the title. Call me out for being dishonest after you ignore Fairley killing multiple QBs and shutting others down. Yeah it was all Cam

I can go all night baby, I was at Auburn then

Keep trying to convince me it was a zero team sweetheart

You just implied Mike Dyer was as important to the team as Mario Fannin

Cam took a team that had gone 7-5 overall and 3-5 and the SEC the prior season to a team that achieved the following:

12-0 regular season

8-0 in the SEC

SEC Champion

BCS National Champion

14-0

Yeah, I'd say I've been pretty damned accurate in my statements about a team I know like the back of my hand.

You obviously don't know them worth a fug if you think Fannin = Dyer

Cam was the main piece but implying he did all of it on his own is bullshit. Look up some Fairley videos and tell me that again

Running the ball is not the same as playing for a fg.

Well i didnt start out by meaning we would take a knee.  Obviously when i said playing it safe I meant running the ball.  You play it safe, run the ball and if you dont get the first you kick a FG.  This aint rocket science, not sure why our coaches didnt see that.
