Why is clock management still a struggle?

Agreed.  I just don't get it.  Cam is a vet now, he has a good cadence, snapping with 1 tick mark nullifies a lot of things that he could do.  

 

Were Cam a rook, I totally get it, but that's just not the case any longer.

We just don't seem to be dictating tempo offensively as much. 

I saw a graphic/stat on David Carr last night and how fast he gets the ball out.  Which helps offset a rush but i didn’t pay attention to their pace and when they snap the ball.

It seems 3rd downs are the down it bogs down.

DA was going one read on most of those passes. Why do you think he threw that awful end zone int? First read was covered he panicked, and that's why he throws awful interceptions. He's good for a series or two max.

It was also desperation time when Derek went it, no running the ball at all. Take out half the playbook right there.

Cant think of what play to call. Wait till the last 7 sec and say okay give the ball to Cam and let him run it. See what Cam can do. 

When he is able to figure out the play he wants to call, it's give it to fat Tolbert. Let him run it.

Having said that, the game that DA started, we didn't seem to have as many issues with this.

I think it's a combo of Shula and Cam, possibly because the offense is more complicated with Cam, idk...

 

I have no problem blaming it all on Shula... I'm just saying.

That, and when DA played and the O was simplified, plays were getting off at 10 secs left haha

Igo. In your game tape review see if you can see what plays were called AFTER we burn a timeout.

Shula can't get a play off in time and they're probably complex. we should be going no huddle majority, if not all, of the game. 

Bringing DA into it is silly and should be stopped. DA ran a simple "let's just do what will get us by" offense.

Some coaches just aren't good at that aspect of the game.  Rivera is unfortunately one of them.

I cracked up when the camera cut to Ron counting the players on the field towards end. Probably not a big deal but it was just funny considering.

Or Cam has troubling relaying the play call to the offense like he has admitted to before.

Helmet radio shuts off at 15 seconds so that's the absolute latest a play call could get in which is plenty of time to relay the play and snap the ball.

a lot of people don't want to see it, but a lot of the play clock mismanagement falls on newton.

We're going to ignore that this problem didn't exist when da was in and Blame it all on Shula ? Pretty sure it's been a problem even before Shula was oc, maybe Cam or Ron, or Shula, or a combination

I thought eventually Ron and/or Shula would eventually get better in this department but that's not been the case.
