NBC blasts NFL for Rams going to Cam's head

Dungy and Harrison made it known nationally that the Rams went to Cam's head with forcible hits and the officials failed to call unnecessary roughness.

They once again made it known the NFL needs to do something about it.

It happened twice with the Barron hit and the Donald hit. Both defenders left their feet. Both players should receive fines this week.

Barron hit. NBCs angle showed it definitively.

The NFL must make them pay and rack up 2 more missed calls. This has to stop. They could go for the body, but they launch for the head. Cam Newton is 6'5". It takes effort to hit him in the head.

Any links to the NBC comments since I don't watch the NFL anymore (outside of Panther's games)?

It was in the pre game for NBC. I will post it if I find it.

I was surprised they made a point about it and called them head shots that should have been called. They had a montage of the beating Cam took from the Rams. After the announcers dismissed it I thought every media outlet was on notice not to discuss it.

So is our head coach ever going to find his nutsack, and start blasting the league publicly about this, or is our franchise quarterback going to have to continue to be the only one willing to publicly stand up against this bs?

Ron Rivera would like you to know that he sincerely backs up his quarterback 100% in whatever comments that he makes on this matter.

Oh, and that he'd "have taken a shot too".

I wish people would shut the hell up about Ron. You have no idea what his communication with the league is. Causing a media circus is the last thing he needs for his team. Ron is too classy to do stupid poo like that

Please. Sometimes you have to throw "class" out of the window. Or I'm assuming that he'll take whatever fines they impose on him and call them out when Cam has some season ending injury or taken off on a stretcher. Maybe we should just back, be classy and wait on it. Got it.

You can rest assured the Baron hit was dirty as hell and intentional. He played at Bama and never got over the Camback in the 2010 Iron Bowl when Cam beat them down 24.

At 0:39 below?  The guy in the red shirt that hits the ground?

Mark Barron.

Cam should just walk away from the game.. He will never be treated fairly.

He won't ever do that. You have to have to have a loser or a quitters mentality and we know that's not in Cam at all. Injury would have to be the cause of him walking away from the game. He's been playing since he was 6 or 7. I don't think he will just walk away.

I think the attention to it is good. But I have zero faith in Goodell or his officials. I do not think any of this rattles him in the least. But if it's mentioned constantly highlighting the hits, maybe it'll force Goodell to do something.
