Jeremy Cash replaces Shaq on active list!

I hope Cash does not get snaps on the defensive side of the ball. It just continues to get worse.

For those who want to see how Cash plays, this is not preseason. You do not put the weak players on the field. Still, the Panthers keep loading up snaps on defensive players who are young, inexperienced, mediocre, and liabilities.

Why do people wonder why the Panthers are struggling with their defense to maintain leads and finish games? It is very obvious.

A team may be better off with a bunch of top flight CFL players surrounding their core defensive players like Luke and TD.

they want to get him in as soon as possible. This guy is a smart cookie. 

like, he'd be smart in anything he does. he just happens to be einstein compared to 99% of people in the NFL. 

If he had the body to actually play in the nfl god knows what he'd actually do. Instead, they're just thinking ahead.

This really isn't that uncommon of a practice. 

Show me a team that signed a UDFA because they wanted him to coach in the next 3-4 years since this is not uncommon....

Don't want to call you out but that sounds ridicules.

Maybe Jeremy should take that approach and not let the weaker posters post during the season......

No.

The front office just needed to keep from dropping a bomb on the defense in the off season.

• 2015 had 7 players who were liabilities take snaps. They accounted for 14.8% of the defensive snaps.
• 2016 has 15 players who are liabilities taking snaps. They are accounting for 43.3% of the defensive snaps.

There in lies the problems on defense. The front office failed to replace capable/impact players with at least capable players.

I can't think of anyone off the top of my head where a team signed a player as a UDFA where the end goal is for them to only become a coach in the next 3 years. As in, they don't leave, go play anywhere else, don't get any snaps for their team, and then "retire" and become a coach for said team

It really is ridiculous. Not like we couldn't sign him to a longer and, ultimately, bigger contract right now to be a coach. But frankly, any guy fresh out of college is still a good 10 years minimum from being a LEGIT assistant coach. I'm FINE with Cash moving to the headset or front office at the end of his career if he wants to but let's not act like organizations were scrambling to add him to their roster so he would be a coach in 4-5 years. That's asinine.
