All kickers are streaky. Vinatieri has had 11 horrible seasons, 4 average seasons, and 6 great seasons. He is not as consistent as you would think. His great seasons just stand out over his bad seasons, because we do not follow him all the time. There is a reason the Patriots let him walk.

Now, he has had 3 straight great seasons with the Colts, but he is 44. No idea how his leg is getting better in his 40s outside of steroids. Then again being a kicker in your 40s and wanting to keep earning millions, I guess the threat of a suspension is not that big of a deal as you are ready to retire and just trying to rake in the cash.
