I dont have  a problem with it, but I can see why others do.  I am just trying to point out that it may not be racism.  Im sure one official that is annoyed by Cam might like Julio Jones and give him PI calls.  They are both black.

Oh I just love that. O

Thomas Davis and Cam are two totally different people. I don't expect TD, even if he were a quarterback, to do what Cam does. People are wired differently. I don't why people won't get it that it's okay to be loose as a quarterback. He can't dab, he can't smile, he can't dress crazy, he can't laugh, he can't speak up for himself, he can't think for himself. He just can't, right? Because he's supposed to handle every win and every loss like Tom, Peyton and Aaron? He is supposed to behave the way you want him to right? Whatever, as you said agree to disagree. I hope he never changes because obviously it ruffles feathers.

Imagine growing up and going to school and all the teachers and the principals acted outlandish and dabbed.  That is why people have an issue with it.

Heck if you replaced all the serious business type men throughout history with a person like Cam the world may very well be a better place.

The world the way it is people expect a politician to be the best player in the league, regardless of race.  Lots of people just like to hate everything.

Cam just needs to be smart and realize he needs to zip it up when he is on camera otherwise he will never get the calls and his career probably wont be as great as it could be.

They probably have children and understand the influence of an NFL athlete.  So they hold them to a higher standard.

Cant have that can we?

When they stand up for a real issue, nonviolently, during the anthem, that's shouldn't be in football guys!   But then you want them to be role models as long as it's doing WHAT YOU WANT and dressing HOW YOU WANT.   Sigh.   You don't own the players.   They aren't role models, some may be, but they are there for money, and you can blame the NFL for that, they have made the league into nothing but money.  You can't have your cake and eat it too.

LOL football players aren't teachers.   Maybe people should teach their kids that fact.   Or be good role models themselves for their kids.   Also nothing Cam has done is bad for kids.   Nothing.  At. All.

I will call up my people and make sure everyone is clear on what you say. Since I control everything and the way people think.

I am not claiming the thinking, it is reality and Cam needs to face it.

Regardless of how Newton is perceived, professional referees aren't supposed to allow their personal feelings about a player to affect how they call the game.

I'd add that politicians aren't supposed to favor people that give them money, NFL coaches aren't supposed to cheat, Olympic judges aren't supposed to fix scores, auto mechanics aren't supposed to charge for repairs you didn't need and managers aren't supposed to give preferential treatment to employees who suck up to them.

So...

This is the core of it.

Doesn't matter if some Tenn mom hates him or if I would let him marry my daughter.

The refs need to leave whatever their feelings (positive or negative) in the locker room and do the job they are paid handsomely to do.

I can't wait for the ESPN 30 for 30 that comes out one day when Cam is a retired HOFer and tells the story of the adversity he went through on his way to completely transcending the QB position.

I just hope that it's many, many seasons and super bowls from now, which might not be the case if other teams keep getting free shots at him.

I blame Instant Replay. Before IR if a ref saw it, he flagged it. Then IR came along, and refs became reluctant to throw flags. They don't want IR to prove them wrong, so they have become hesitant, and are second guessing themselves.

In the world of IR it is better to not throw the flag, and let IR get it right. Than it is to throw the flag, and let IR prove you wrong.

Imagine if Thomas Davis and Cam traded places.  People expecting a real man to be the best player in the league would like Thomas Davis, even though he is black.  Nobody would care about Cam celebrating because he is a linebacker.

Soooooooooo... you're admitting its because Cam is a BLACK quarterback?

Thank you for agreeing.

Lol so be yourself Cam, just shut up and don't speak out on issues that effect you? He wasn't getting the calls when he played nice and quiet so what changes now?

Athletes are athletes. Comparing them or expecting them to be teachers, lawyers and doctors is silly. The people that look to them to be more is silly and are part of the big problem

My son is a huge Cam fan. He thinks Cam is the coolest person walking right now, fromthe clothes and the hats and even the dancing. Kids love Cam. He's not in any trouble, not harming anyone and for the most part, he uses his platform for good. Cam is doing what he loves. I wish I could go into work every day smiling, dabbing and having fun. Who are you or anyone to say he should stop all of these things and be quiet on camera about issues that are bothering him.

This falls in line with the "be seen, not heard" some people have regarding black athletes in general.
