Nobody said that???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????I said it isnt as much racism as personality.  A large majority of people didnt care for The Golden Calf of Bristol praying in the endzone and wearing bible verses on his eye black.

You said that maybe if he didn't smile as much and dress the way he does, it'll be easier on him. Not that those are YOUR feelings but there are those who do feel that way. So I laughed and asked if he should stop smiling, having fun and putting on whatever he wants to put on because people can't handle it. Race plays a part in this...Cam is too urban for the likes of many, which is why he "behavior" and his style is such a big deal.

They probably have children and understand the influence of an NFL athlete.  So they hold them to a higher standard.

Cant have that can we?

LOL

Never said I would treat him unfairly for those things, however others do.  Not everyone thinks highly of seeing grade school kids everywhere dabbing like fools.

Sorry, but there are way worse role models out there on the NFL landscape.

I'd much rather see kids imitating a Cam Newton touchdown dance than see them imitating the behavior of certain other players.

Shaking your hands and dabbing is stupid.  I have the right to think it is stupid and not be a racist.

So you are admitting it is all the things you are talking about and not racism? Thank you.

No honey, don't cherrypick. All of it goes back to the fact that Cam is too urban, or too black, for the likes of some. He's brash, he's gonna do what he wants to do, wear what he wants to wear, etc. However, we can use him smiling, dancing and having fun as a cover. Doesn't matter to me. Either way you slice the pie, race plays a huge part in how Cam is treated by the league, officials and even fans.

Not all players have as high of a platform as Cam does.

Cam has proven he is not a bad person to over the top Panthers fans like the ones on this board, however other people only hear the negative aspects of Cam and see him dancing and pouting.  People do see his talent and respect it, that is why they want to see more from him behavior wise.

No it is the fact that he acts like a child. Agree to disagree.

You have the right. I just disagree.

Look, I'm an old white dude who's told hundreds of young whippersnappers to get off my lawn, but I don't really have an issue with kids dabbing.

Mind you, I'd look silly if I did it, but hey...

I don't really expect people from outside the fanbase to like him regardless.

Most fans think you can be the nicest guy in the world, but if you beat my favorite team you're an a--hole.

Imagine if Thomas Davis and Cam traded places.  People expecting a real man to be the best player in the league would like Thomas Davis, even though he is black.  Nobody would care about Cam celebrating because he is a linebacker.

Okay, if you say so. You're one of the ones who can't handle it. I get it though, because everyone and everything is not everyone's cup of tea.

I dont have  a problem with it, but I can see why others do.  I am just trying to point out that it may not be racism.  Im sure one official that is annoyed by Cam might like Julio Jones and give him PI calls.  They are both black.

Thomas Davis and Cam are two totally different people. I don't expect TD, even if he were a quarterback, to do what Cam does. People are wired differently. I don't why people won't get it that it's okay to be loose as a quarterback. He can't dab, he can't smile, he can't dress crazy, he can't laugh, he can't speak up for himself, he can't think for himself. He just can't, right? Because he's supposed to handle every win and every loss like Tom, Peyton and Aaron? He is supposed to behave the way you want him to right? Whatever, as you said agree to disagree. I hope he never changes because obviously it ruffles feathers.
