Yeah we did which is an even bigger feather in Ron/Shula's hat. They actually adjusted. Norv hasn't.

Say what you want about Shula and all but we could have worse. I mean I would take Josh McDaniels or Todd Haley in a second but that's just common sense.

Hell no. He couldn't get the Redskins over the hump. He couldn't get the Raiders over the hump. He couldn't get the Chargers over the hump. Now the Vikings? Don't want that here. Curious as to the exact reason for his resignation.

Turner is not Head Coaching material, but he is an outstanding OC.

Would I trade Shula for him?  In a heartbeat.  Not gonna happen though.  All this Shula = Turner, what?!?!?  The system they intend to run might be similar, but Turner isn't oblivious to situational playcalling.  The best possible outcome I could see as possible is we could bring him in as a consultant/assistant OC to help teach Shula to coordinate since there's been no sign that Shula has lost whatever blackmail materials he seems to have on Rivera/Richardson.

Shula threatens to draw on Sean McDermott's chart with his crayons and come up with his own plays for him.

That's enough to get their attention.

Does everyone here just forget this guy falls apart in the post season? When he was with SD the offence would crumble in the playoffs.

He hasn't as an OC, just as a HC. Helped Dallas win 2 Super Bowls.

It would seem that those folks thinking that Turner is a great coordinator are putting way too much stock in how he did in Dallas almost 25 years ago and are ignoring everything since. These same folks who think Turner is better than Shula must be thinking about what Shula didn't do for Tampa almost 20 years. Seems they are rooted in the past.  Here are the comparisons.

Turner in Dallas as an OC:.

1991- 9th in yards, 7th in points

1992- 4th in yards, 2nd in points

1993- 4th in yards, 2nd in points

since then as an OC:

San Diego-  2001- 11th in yards, 14th in points

Miami- 2002- 15th in yards, 12th in points

.           2003- 24th in yards, 17th in points

San Francisco- 2006- 26th in yards, 24th in points

Cleveland 2013- 17th in yards and 27th in points

Minnesota

2014- 27 in yards, 20th in points

2015- 29th in yards, 16th in points

2016- 31st in yards, 27th in points

What I see is that his offenses have not been in the top 10 in the last 20 years. He also has a losing record as a head coach. So exactly why would we want him?

Meanwhile in Tampa Shula started off roughly with rankings for points and yards in the 20s. Since becoming OC for Carolina in 2014 we were 16th in yards and 19th in points. In 2015 it was 11th in yards, and 1st in points, 2016- 7th in yards and 4th in points.

Ironically Turners positive reputation is based on the past while most of Shulas criticisms are also based on the past. If you look at recent history, it isn't even close.
