The more annoying thing was people fumbling up the logic behind the pick, I mean I don't like the pick but I can deal, but hearing people act as if we didn't have positions that could use a upgrade during the draft was borderline asinine

yes, in a perfect world if Butler timed the snap perfectly and split the guards before they could even get into position and make a tackle as the FB was taking the handoff, all in his first game at the NFL level against the superbowl champs - sure he would've made a tackle or at least slowed the runner down.

you are nit picking too an extreme level though, and this was a terrible gif to use to try and prove a point. I could post gifs like this of some of the best DT's in the league including KK short (who was pushed around more than Butler on this play).

also, the fact that you are over looking the failed assignments and pursuit of Bene, Coleman, and Shaq - is a tell tale sign that you are just trying to force your point without being logical.

try again.

in his first nfl game, too. what a loser.

Rookies that don't perform perfectly from their first snap in the pros need to be cut immediately.

There is zero chance that they will ever improve with reps and practice so it's best to just cut your losses now.

anyone remember that middle linebacker we drafted a few years ago who had a rough couple of games to start his career? luckily our front office cut him immediately

I never wanted us to draft that guy anyway.

Ditto that goofball center. Heck, that guy stunk so much as a rookie he wrote a book about it.

Then that means it was a wasted 1st round pick for him.

The dude got hurt in his 3rd EVER game. How can any of us possibly have an informed opinion on whether he was a wasted pick. There was no significant injury history coming out of college that I know of, I think that this just falls into the category of Poo Happens.

I'm not saying that you're wrong... just that there's no way to judge.

Other than being way too premature he's wrong because Hunter Henry is the player they would've taken instead and he looks great.

Hunter Henry was my top pick as well (considering the top few DE's ant OT's were off the board by then). He's special.
