Then that means it was a wasted 1st round pick for him. We should've drafted
Derrick Henry. Atleast we've had a running back for the future, after Jonathan Steward is done.

Derrick Henry would be on the bench like he would in Tennessee, and on top of that we need more insurance at DT (KK or Star leaving) than at RB (easier to replace). There is a reason teams don't use first-round picks on running backs.

Stewart ain't done yet but it would have been nice to have Henry. We could've used him during Stew's injury. Groom him into the starter after next year

Hunter Henry would have made more of an impact. Especially on 3rd downs since the Panthers lost Cotchery as their reliable hands over the middle.

He STILL doesn't need to be on the bench. Rotate him in some type of way, all our linemen can rush for different stops

They need to employ a 52 defense. 3 DT, 2 pass rushers, 2 LBs, and 4 DBs. The pass rushers could be DL, LB, or DB depending on the situation. The SS steps up to form an 8 man box with 5 down linemen in running situations. The Panthers have the perfect set of LBs for this as they can cover deep zones and rush the passer allowing to disguise the 52 constantly.

He'll get right back into the DT rotation probably ahead of Soliai and Love like he was before he got hurt.

Love > Butler

You address that issue in the next years draft , you see how 1st rd running back is helping Dallas. I wouldn't have picked Derrick Henry but Hunter Henry for sure.

Hunter Henry is a better pick, but again - a luxury pick. We don't worry about Greg retiring or leaving anytime soon. We are worried that KK or Star might leave. In that case, we wanted to make sure we'd have a guy who could replace either - and, if not, could be a solid backup. It's similar logic to the Shaq Thompson pick, except that also had the added idea we might lose AJ Klein in free agency. The logic there is solid.

Its not a luxury pick at all especially if Olsen was to get  hurt (which was the idea behind Funchess pick by DG if KB got hurt) then our offense is bascially dead. It also helps your OTs which is weakest link in the line  & plays to the strenght of your team identity. Like DG said make your strength stronger. We need to address the TE position in the 2017, I better not hear 1 LB's name in the upcoming draft.
