This and other reasons are why the NFL isn't really enjoyable to watch anymore for me. Even if the Panthers record were better and hadn't poo the bed in some games and won it would still be the same bs. How can you enjoy seeing the same poo done to black QB's decade after decade. Seriously prejudice is starting to rear it's ugly head again. Look back at Daunte Culpepper same type of QB not as fast, same result got destroyed any chance the D could get away with it. I'm sorry to pull the race card but Jesus people how blatant can it be.

I genuinely believe with Cam that it is more of a combination of his size (80%), his running play style (10%), and his personality (10%), plus his calling out of Ed Hochuli that has lead to this.

It is no coincidence that Drew Brees has benefited from a RTP 1 out of every 6 times he has been hit in the pocket in that span and he is a tiny dancer.

Russell Wilson has also benefited from a lot of them, and he is also small.

It might be a race thing as you said, but I genuinely feel like the NFL referees just do not like Cam Newton, simple and plain.

The fact the Cam has zero RTP penalties that have been accepted since 2014 is the only stat that matters. Its inexcusable for the refs and the NFL in general. It seems the only time lately that they throw a flag is when there is another obvious penalty on the play that will cancel out the RTP. Cam has every right to feel the way he feels and to say the things he's said. Hopefully eventually the refs will get their heads out of their collective asses. Nobody is asking for special treatment...just fair treatment.

I not only think that they miss these calls intentionally, I also believe they are somehow directed to miss them.   I think it killed them last year that Rodgers or Brady weren't the MVP.

I believe the NFL blatantly over looked the calls in the Super Bowl and will continue until Cam stops running completely.

As sad it is, this will never change.   The more he complains the more they will overlook.

In 90+ yrs of football there has never been a referee to be fined for bullshit calls or missing calls.

I've said before that Newton has one of those personalities that can easily rub people the wrong way unless you get to know him.

Lots of us have that one friend that we like who somehow manages to turn other people off because they don't get them, but we do.

That's Newton.

Teammates and fans have enough experience with him to understand (if they care to) but opposing fans and - sadly - referees, not so much.

Yes, officials are human, but they should still be expected to do their job professionally.

Apparently that's too much to ask.

Historically the Panthers never got the calls they should. The NFL does play favorites.

Having a player as high profile as Cam finally brings to light the bias against certain teams and the coddling of certain players.

There is not a team in any sport in the world with fans who think they get a fair shake from the refs.

There is a serious enough issue here without you menstruating your insecurities and problems with reality all over the board.

That is the simple truth.

What is even more infuriating, is the NFL isn't even trying to make sure the refs do their jobs.

60 to 70% of the league is black, but Cam getting picked on is because he's black? Do you really not see how stupid that argument is?
