Surprise, surprise. The hit by Campbell was deemed illegal. No poo, thanks NFL. Also, Gettlemen spoke to NFL on Monday.

It didn't.

Rivera indicated in his presser that they've been to the league multiple times already and the league always "said the right things".

Basically, it sounds like the league's been stringing them along.  Now that it's out in the public though, that won't be so easy.

Hadnt heard that, so even better...  i hope we see the ramifications of it immediately.

That's how it happened to Brady, he was pushed into Brady's leg.  It's a penalty regardless like I stated before.

If the impetus to cause the low blow was due to the OL tripping the defender or the OL blocking him down into the QB, it is *not* a penalty.

A.  Even if he stumbled over an OL's leg, it's a penalty. That's not blocked or fouled into the hit.

B.  Even at the time of the hit I didn't hold it against Campbell.  It didn't seem like a malicious hit at Cam (Lord knows we've seen enough of those to know what it looks like) and the way he seemed apologetic and wanting to make sure he was ok after the hit tells me it wasn't intentional.  Still a penalty, but I don't think any less of Campbell for it.

I think the separation is if the OL sticks his leg out in what would be called a tripping penalty, it's not RTP because he was fouled into the hit. If the defender simply stumbled over someone's leg, it is a penalty because he wasn't fouled into the hit.

Hence the reason the flags thrown for QBs like Brady, and Rodgers.  But not thrown for Cam.  But deemed illegal two days afterwards.

One thing that stood out to me, was Calais coming up to Cam to apologize directly after the hit.

I believe he was tripped up or something. Good on him though.

Watch the replay...dude didn't trip. I don't think he meant to hit him at the knee, maybe his feet, but he didn't trip.

Im loving that our team and staff have finally stood up for Cam and took it straight to the top...  that being said, i still dont know how it took this long to happen.  The season opener shouldve been enough...  regardless, i am just happy that theyve addressed it.  Theres nothing but good that can come from this.

Rivera has been doing it all season. He made it public after Cam made his remarks in public. He has worked behind the scenes. I don't know about Gettleman since he hasn't said anything about prior contact one way or the other.
