star needs to do this. we can say he's the NT style run stuffer/space eater, but for a guy with his talent level and draft expectations, he shouldn't be a one trick pony; he should be a complete bomb on the line in all facets. if he can start putting the rest of it together, we are gonna be nasty on the d-line again.

Nah. Star's always done what he's supposed to. He was drafted for what he is, someone to control the los. Days like today are icing on the cake.

Nope he has skills for pass rushing as well , we got another NT that demands double team and can take on run stopping duties.

    • Same... With the personnel the Niners had, that defense could have been historically good in the right hands. Under Wilks they were certainly good, they didn't quite rise to that level. Honestly, I see Wilks kinda like I see Rivera: fantastic person, decent head coach. Skill wise, phenomenal DB coach, so-so DC. His greatest strength is his leadership. Hard to find many better in that department. In the Xs and Os / execution area though, not as good. Bottom Line: Wilks is the sort of coach that needs a staff that excels in those aspects of the game where he's weaker. But, like Rivera, I don't know that he scouts assistants very well. That as much as anything might be why he's not in the NFL now.
    • Clearly the best outcome for us is a Giants W. A spot or two difference in the 4th round is inconsequential. Just look at the trade value charts. A spot or two at the top of the 1st means a LOT. A spot or two in the mid-rounds? Virtually nothing.
    • Agree. I don't think I have ever heard him say anything positive, at any time, about the Panthers. Best expectation is no mention at all.
