D-Will taking shots at Gettleman on twitter

This board is slowly devolving into all out gettleman war.  He's the best GM we've ever had, but people hate him and have been waiting for this bad start to throw it in everyone's faces . I'd rather be wrong and the team do well, but if they can take enjoyment from our team playing poorly, so be it. It's not like it matters . . Gettleman isn't going anywhere

To be fair that bar ain't high, still yet to have back to back winning seasons.

Dude, he's been getting lit up as soon as legit DTs and LBs have touched him. Get off your poo. Titan fans are now freaking out that he could be a bust because he has 0 agility and runs too upright. He's freaking Trent Richardson. Get over it. You were wrong.

Preseason is filled with scrubs and no gameplans.

No, you're wrong. Get over yourself!

Henry had been used more sparingly in recent weeks. On the season, Henry now has 221 yards on 53 carries, an average of 4.2 yards.

According to Pro Football Focus, 41 of Henry’s 60 rushing yards came after contact vs Jaguars. Henry forced 5 total missed tackles.

“It’s been impressive,” Titans coach Mike Mularkey said of Henry. “He does come in there and he’s so effective from play one on, which is a good sign. It’s just what you want, a one-two punch in the backfield.”

Titans tight end Delanie Walker said he likes Henry’s attitude, and approach.

“I think Henry is going to be a good back, and we just had to get him out there and get him a few runs so he could get warmed up, which we did,” Walker said. “It just showed his performance level is very high, and he understands the game.

People who actually understand the game---more enlightened fans included---realize that Henry hasn't even really gotten started yet, but that in his relatively young career, he is doing well. This should be a simple concept for an educated fan, but yet you don't want to give him his due---still obviously stuck on a pre-draft narrative. You even went so far as to throw a little shade on Hunter Henry, like the only reason he has been excellent this season is because of Phillip Rivers (like dude couldn't do great things with Cam Newton).  Just stop! At least act like you know what you're talking about.

Without Gettleman this team does not sniff a Super Bowl appearance last season. His team was good enough to win it. I looked at the drafts they are still better than Hurney's.

Hurney is not in the same league as Gettleman as a GM. I shouldn't even have to defend a Hurney Vs Gettleman question, the smart money is on Gettleman.

Without cam we dont sniff poo.  Hurney brought us cam so i give him that.

As the Gman era keeps moving im seeing no better or worse than what hurney gave us.  A great season followed by a poor one.  I will never pretend to know much about the general manager position but from the eye test i could not tell the difference on the feild between the last five years and the previous five before that.  Looking at wins and losses, playoffs.  The 7-8-1 playoof year does not count.  We sucked.

Hurney drafted Cam and he deserves credit. But his last years doomed him which is why he was fired by a team who rarely fires mid season.

McClain, Fua,  Nakamura were starters just four/five years.

2014: Panthers loss both Safety's, 3 Receivers, Several lineman, etc

2016: Kept the majority of the same team. The guys expected to take the next step (Ealy, Boston, Thompson, Funchess) has not key veterans has not played as well as they did last year.

the 7-8-1 season did indeed count good sir. This would be the first year missing the playoffs under Gettleman.

So, you're just going to cherry pick a pretty meaningless stat within the context that you are using it and convince people, including yourselves that Henry is a "poor" back, even though just about everyone but two Bozos on the Carolina Huddle has said that they've been impressed and that Henry is indeed a legit NFL back?

I expect that from PF, but Tiger I thought you were better than that.

Don't use Demarco Murray's excellence, great situation and veteran experience, as a means to condemn Henry's talent. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. He's a huge freak that is currently averaging more YPC than some other notable backs in this league.

And, btw, talent is talent. Anyone who is suggesting that we couldn't have used both Henrys this year is just blind.

Now as for the future, I'd love to have Fournette or Chubb too, but I am not holding my breath looking at the way Getty likes to draft.

I don't think you are wrong that Henry is a very good RB. But he would be a horrible fit in the kind of offense Shula runs.

He's all downhill power (like a Brandon Jacobs) and, if the hole is big enough that he can break into the secondary, he's got good enough speed to take it to the house

But to play in this offense you have got to be a RB who can be patient and read his OL, find the hole that develops (not one that is pre-called), plant your foot and cut.

That is NOT what Henry is good at or has ever been used as.

If he's as hated as you say he is please prove it. I just gave you two references that YOU can check out yourself. Whether you do it or not isn't my problem but I have yet to see you anyone outside egotistical divas lash out at Gettleman. If Olsen, Kuechly, Davis, Kalil, etc were saying something negative about him then I'd believe it but if you're taking Norman's or DeAngelo's word for it then you're just a gullible as you are asinine.

Lol, if it's references you posted.  Shouldn't you post them?  Because if not, they aren't true.  Until you actually post them, it's hearsay.

Guess who also graded out just fine with PFF in his rookie campaign? Trent Richardson. Good god, if he were such a force at RB, he'd be getting more snaps. Not the other way around. He's not the next Gurley or Peterson or Bell. I mean, I could name 20 other RBs right now who are averaging 4.2 or better with those amount of snaps. It's laughable to even suggest he's having a good season until his snap percentage increases by at least 50%. His blocking has been atrocious too. There's a reason why he's barely on the field for 3rd down. For a guy his size, that's inexcusable.

So? Rivers has made studs out of midtier guys before because he's an elite QB. Hunter been decent but I wasn't interested in drafting him in the first two rounds and neither were Gettleman and Rivera. He's okay but he's not as athletic as Kelce or dominant like Gronk or route-savvy like Olsen.

It's even more "laughable" to take shots at a rookie who is averaging 4.2 YPC with so few snaps. Anyone that knows football knows that the more a back is out there, generally the better he becomes because he gets into a rhythm.

Yeah, you're going to tell me that Fozzy is a better alternative because his YPC is more, right?

I'd like to see some solid evidence that his blocking has been "atrocious." He wasn't "atrocious" in college.

As for Hunter Henry, notwithstanding a concussion, he has been a top 5 TE in football for the last month. When Gates went out, he showed that he is a complete TE. He was already blocking well from pretty much the jump. Henry is the real deal, and everyone knows it.

Again, they're a click away.

See, they invented these things called search engines. Welcome to the 21st century.

Hahaha, oh boy.  Yep.  That's what I thought.  Until you post these "quotes" from Gross and Beason it isn't true.  Good talk man.  So far, no player or former player has stated anything positive about Gettlefugup.

By most accounts, both Hunter and Derrick were very much on the Panthers' and Gettleman's radar, so all these suggestions that they wouldn't have been or wouldn't be successful here is just talk.  At the end of the day, I still say that we could have worked it where we had Hunter Henry, Derrick Henry, Bradberry and J-No on the tag. This was totally doable.  And no way you can convince me that we'd be 1-5 with all that talent.  I don't believe it. But, it is what it is. We'll never know.

Im not really defending either GM.  Just pointing out that we still have not reached the overall consistent success a team wants.  Its been this way for 25 years.  Gman deserves credit for what he has done with, well our credit.  However i think if there ever was a year to lay that money down it was this year.  We were so close.

Much more goes into wins and losses that are outside of the front offices hands also.  Injurys, dumbass mental mistakes, poor coaching so IMO putting our record solely at a general managers feet is dumb.

Anywho hopefully we can crawl back to 5-5 and get ourselfs in the playoff mix.  We lose tomorrow its truly over :-(

Read this.

Take in account that Gettleman had to clean up Hurney's mess and try to field a competitive team.
