Doesn't Norman deserve some blame in the disastrous situation?

He tagged him in hope of a long term deal. When he realized that wasn't possible he let him go.

Fresh offensive tackle talent like who? List them. Remember $14M was tied up to Norman until April.

I've said it before if you blame him for anything it should be for believing in his guys too much. It obviously did not work out well that's why I asked the question.

What blame does Norman get? Can't blame a guy for not taking well below market value when he already was coming off a drastically underpaid season.

4 years in? Hurney was crushing top draft picks, showed ability to bring in difference makers in FA, 2 NFCCGs and a Super Bowl...no one bashed Hurney back then

You are right it is too early to compare. Hurney trading a 1st for Everette Brown, Trading a 2nd for Armanti Edwards, Mismanaging the cap is still fresh so I remember that the most. The First round of the draft is set up for bad teams to acquire high end talent to compete you are suppose to hit on 1st round picks it is what he did in the other rounds that did him in.

Bringing a inexperienced agent to negotiate with a GM is like bringing a knife to a gunfight, a pen to a test, your chest in the line of fire with a thin ass vest.

Why not sign the franchise tag and negotiate in good faith? Just maybe Josh did not want to play here under those conditions.

Whether you feel we would be better with him or without him currently is a personal opinion.

As for the OL, you don't have to throw record money at guys to get serviceable results bud. We found Norwell for a reasonable amount. You at least make some kind of effort to protect your QB knowing that he has been through the ringer. We didn't. It's biting us in the ass. Are you at least going to acknowledge that or no? If not, let's just call this quits.

True. Josh Norman is not walking through the BOA doors either way. Gettleman made the decision we got to live with it.

Did the OL not play well last season. The same O-Line went 17-2 last year. Yeah the Broncos had their way with them in the Super Bowl but why break up the chemistry of the O-line after 1 game. If a guy was out there to improve the OL don't you think Gettleman would have looked into it?

This place is like a microcosm of modern American society. It cant possibly be (person x) fault for their lot in life, so let's blame (person y) for every single thing that happens. I'm not a Gettleman "supporter" (whatever the fug that means), I'm a supporter of people having logical thought and personal accountability.

100% real rap.

Cam, and Stewart compensated for the OL a good bit last season.

We lost the SB. Since then our OL has gone from so so to dreadful.

Doesn't sound like we're really gonna find much common ground here so I guess agree to disagree.

See, I was trying to be nice. But then you throw that jab in.

The problem with the huddle right now is we have guys like you that just refuse to acknowledge Gettleman makes mistakes too, and then we have the idiots who just hate Dave. It's one extreme or another.

Gettleman is not perfect no GM walking this earth's surface is. But some of the hate is unwarranted in my opinion.

You said Gettleman didn't add any OT help. I replied that the chemistry and success of the line last season were reasons why he kept the same line then you go well Stew/Cam made them looked better of course they did Football is a team game. That's the definition of moving the goal post imo.

I mean, I didn't throw out the moving the goal posts line when you decided to respond with an obligatory "oh yeah!? well name the names of all the people we should have signed then!" when I merely suggested that we could have at the very least added some depth competition on the OL after that disastrous SB.

The problem with your logic about wanting to maintain continuity on the OL is it was obvious to anyone with eyes that guys like Remmers were exposed horribly in the Super Bowl. What good is continuity if the level of play on the OL is clearly not adequate. Then we played the Broncos again in the opener, and it was even worse. Seriously? That's some great continuity we got there huh?

Gettleman took a gamble with the OL this year. And it backfired. It doesn't really matter at this point if you agree or not. We're 1-5, with the play of the OL playing a substantial part in that. That's the reality of the situation.

Norman would have played under the tag and said as much.  And guys never rush to sign a tag.  Why would they? People bring up that he didn't sign it immediately as meaning something.  Players want a deal and delaying signing tags are common in hopes of a deal (which was being worked on).

Dave's ego got in the way.  He pulled it. Then everything blew up on him from not making the moves needed both at DE and CB if Norman wasn't retained for a year and his desperate draft.

Bad offseason by the GM.  It is what it is

Because I never tried to move the goal post. I Just wanted to know where this O-Line talent was suppose to come from and you did not provide any names. Which proves my point.

Von Miller / Broncos made a lot of o-lines look foolish. The Line played great in The playoffs against a good Seattle defense and a Cardinal defense. Why would he break that up. Did I ever say I agreed with it, no I simply used logic. Go to PFF or wherever and give me names of these great cheap tackles that the team could have picked up. If you are going to argue for something comes with details or facts.

I'm not on the cliff I understand this season is not the end of the world.
