Both have their problems. I did not like aspects of Hurney's philosophy either. I continue to take exception with the blind faith put in Gettleman. He is given credit for aspects of the team he had nothing to do with and likely would have never done. He is made to look like Cap genius by over blowing the Cap situation out of proportion from 1 year to what seems to some be 5 to 10 years. When anyone criticizes Gettleman, the shift to criticizing Hurney pops up like some go to salve. Then they make it seem like the 2002 to 2009 run was troubled, and the 2011/2012 rebuild was a mess. Those are some great years in Panthers history.

It is disturbing to see Gettleman praised and overhyped, which Gettleman even acknowledges, for element of the team he had no impact on, and then see the ocean of excuses and short memories for the major mistakes he has made over the past 4 off seasons.

You do not see much of the 'In Gettleman We Trust' garbage now. He could have traded for Sean Gilbert, cut Cam Newton, drafted Dwayne Jarrett, tagged Greg Hardy, and signed Chuck Smith all in the same off season, and these Gettlefans would all keep stating Gettleman knows better; Gettleman has not led them astray.

Jake was doing very well up until 2007 when he had his tommy john injury. He made a great comeback in 2008 and gave it his all until his arm gave way in the playoffs during a fantastic season. 2009 was the first season he struggled, and he was let go at the end of the season. That is not holding on to him too long. They parted with him after his first season he struggled. Of course they knew they were resetting in 2010 and rebuilding in 2011 at that time.

Matt Moore was just a band aid who was given a shot to prove himself in 2010 as they approached a rebuild. Clausen was never drafted to be a starter. He was drafted to compete and develop into a back up. The 2010 season belonged to Matt Moore, and he struggled. The Panthers had their eye on Andrew Luck while Moore and Clausen were at the helm.

Hurney flat out said that they were grooming Matt Moore to replace Jake. That was his plan and he said so. He then later admitted (he said this) that was a mistake and he need to change QBs to due seeing flaws in Moore's play. So what you're saying is incorrect.
