Byrd hasn't had time to develop. He's a first-year player.

So, I guess the practice squad may as well be the twiddly winks squad. All of the OTAs, camp and preseason means nothing.

I'm not going to remind you about what Cam said about Byrd because I'm sure you would just put it down to Quarterback-speak.

Ginn is the only real option here.  Last year this trade wouldn't make sense.  This year Ginn hasn't been a factor in our offense. We would still have plenty of firepower in KB, Funch, Philly, and obviously the leagues best TE in Olsen.  Getting Verner or Banks would be immediate upgrade at position.  Those of you barking "we don't want know Tampa scrubs"  those Tampa scrubs are better than our corners at this point in time. sorry for truth.

You could make the argument that Corey Brown is just as effective as the deep threat.

He had like negative YAC last year. He's a reliable target, but not a burner.

Practice squad worked real well for Zach Sanchez

How is he better then Worley? If he was so much better then Worley than why did the Bucs do everything they could to replace his ass. It's about the threat of Ted Ginn speed. Let's trade our only deep threat so you can complain when thing go south.

Bucs are trading because they drafted younger CBs but Banks already proved he is better than Worley so far.

"Johnthan Banks might be the better option since he is only 27 years old, but much like Verner, his 2016 season hasn’t been impressive. He’s played in five games this season, but hasn’t accounted for a single tackle or pass breakup so far. Yet, in the three seasons prior, Banks has seven interceptions and 16 passes defended, so the potential is certainly there."

Ginn will not be needed due to Funchess,Philly, Byrd and of course the 2 TE set.

Now take the L.

I would trade Funchess in a heartbeat. We don't need two big lumbering receivers out there. But I'm pretty sure Tampa wants a deep threat

Funchess is not a "lumbering" type of receiver (if that's what you're implying).  He has a marked amount of finesse to his game, and in fact can be a deep threat in his own right, though he is not a "speed receiver."

Come on, man.  Sanchez is a rookie who has never really shown anything at his position like Byrd has at his. The move from Ginn to Byrd is a much easier transition than Sanchez to anyone because of Byrd's talent, upside and speed. Furthermore, no disrespect to Steve Wilks, but he is not Ricky Proehl. And, lastly, Byrd has had 18 monthes to get acclimated to what we're doing here, while Sanchez has had not quite 6 months.

Obviously we're just going to disagree on Byrd and Ginn.

He ran a 4.7 and can't get separation to save his life. Spare me the whole finesse talk.

Every single catch he has made this season he has had a guy draped all over him. It's also a 1000 times easier for an opposing defense when both Kelvin and Funchess are on the field at the same time.

First of all, I think that it has pretty much been proven that Funchess does get separation. Cam does make the wrong reads sometimes, particularly if under consistent duress. But even if you don't agree with that point, how are you going to take that 4.7 number and hold it up as some kind of evidence and keep any credibility in this discussion?  Funchess was hurt when he put up that number (and I believe it was his toe which made it even worse). He ran a 4.47 during his pro day (IIRC).  Come on, dude.
