TWD Season 7

Ok...here is my thought and it is pure speculation.

Negan's crew arrived earlier and seemed to catch everyone off guard.  Well everyone but the creepy guy.  Father Gabriel was ahead of the game in making a fake grave for Maggie.   So he put thought in to what Negan's crew would do when they arrived.  But that wasn't all he did.  The gun log's real purpose was to make the appearance, from a story telling perspective, that Negan most definitely took all the guns.  But come on, Father Gabriel as shown was clearly ahead of the game and obviously didn't feel the need to let Rick in on his plans.  Alexandria still has some firepower.  Father Gabriel had been trending in the badass direction for awhile now....he still is.  If he stashed guns in the graves he also would have cooked the books

I was curious what his pants leg grab signified. Did you catch that as well when they were at the graves? Seems like Gabriel definitely knows what he's doing. Might be playing it mighty close to the chest, but he will reveal it.

Interesting to see if maybe Gabriel makes Rick wake the hell up. Had hope that Rick was just playing along with Negan, but I think he's just legitimately broken. Think Michonne and Gabriel talk Rick into not being a bitch.

I think Rick might take a bit (I mean they are going to painfully milk this for a season), I don't think a pep talk does it.

Now, once he realizes Carol has a new crew...and then that Jesus has some folks and the numbers start to be realistic then he will come around to not being a punk.

But I'm sure Negan will do something that lights Rick fire to start it in motion.

season finale probably we will something similar to the train car scene...where Rick says they don't know that there messing with the wrong people type thing.  Then we wait months

At the rate this show paces itself I'd imagine all out war will begin at the very end of this season.

most likely... They'll milk that arc for probably 2.5 seasons... (second half of this one and then two more)

I imagine they milk this season and imply the rebellion/war will begin at the end of the season.

issue for TWD is they are already seeing a ratings decline ( I think I saw where the ratings were now back in line on average with season 4? ) and milking this lead up to a war all season is going to tank them even more IMO.

I think it was to show that his pants were dirty signifying that he had just dug the grave to let us know that she wasn't dead even though we already knew that.

This hair is really distracting and makes me hate his character even moar

I was thinking about something similar this week... In the comics, he does pick a different hairstyle in the future a bit, but I was kind of hoping they do it sooner on the show, lol...

Of course, Carl, at this point in the comics, is still like 12 or 13 IIRC... Chandler Riggs hit his growth spurt and puberty at the wrong time for the pacing of the show, lol

If they don't do something with Carl, they'd be wasting a lot of potential. What he gets away with in the comics, he'd be a fan favorite if they brought that on the TV show. I realize they are kind of deviating from the original source. Which personally I like. If you've read the source you cand kind of appreciate the differences and what the writers and producers of the show are trying to do. The only thing is that It looks like they are going to drag out this whole arc. Probably two seasons.

Things should start rolling tonight:

Episode 7x05 Summary “Go Getters” is based at Hilltop and in Alexandria.

Episode opens with Maggie waking up at Hilltop where she and Sasha went after the deaths of Glenn and Abraham in the first episode. Dr Carson tells Maggie her medical problem is a small separation of the placenta from the uterus (placental abruption). Her baby is ok, as far as he can tell for the time being at least.

Maggie and Sasha go on together to visit the graves of Abraham and Glenn, where Maggie places Glenn’s watch. Jesus joins them with flowers. They share a quiet moment before all hell breaks loose again.

Gregory is not happy with Maggie staying at Hilltop so he wants to exile her (Sasha could stay there) because he fears what Negan and the Saviors will do to him if they find out he made a deal with Rick and Maggie (season 6) to get rid of them.

Back in Alexandria, Carl fights with everyone. He butts heads with Rick, has an attitude with Michonne and isn't at his best with Enid. Carl already is tired of life under Negan’s rules and The Saviours.

Enid wants to leave Alexandria and go see Maggie at the Hilltop, since Maggie is now her family. Carl doesn't think it's safe for Enid to travel with the Saviours everywhere, but his head is more focused on being angry with Negan’s group than keeping people safe.

Rick and Michonne seem to have made up their differences after the talk they had at the end of ‘Service’. Rick and Michonne share a kiss and their bond is very supportive. The relationship is strong.

Carl and Enid do head off to Hilltop and on the way Carl saves her from some walkers.

Saviours, including Simon, arrive at Hilltop when Sasha and Maggie are both still in Gregory’s office. Gregory wants to turn in both Maggie and Sasha to them, but Jesus cleverly tricks him. Jesus does some arm-twisting to make sure Maggie and Sasha can remain at Hilltop. Later he stands up to Gregory and forces him to let Maggie and Sasha stay at the Hilltop.

Jesus has some great moments in this episode with more revealed about the sort of man he is, like his behavior.

The group of Saviours show up at Hilltop and practically force their way into the community. A radio blares music loudly, attracting walkers.

Maggie and Sasha go into badass mode and kill walkers. Jesus joins them to help. Maggie’s steps into the leader role, giving orders as Jesus carries out her plans and seems amused. Maggie uses a huge tractor to squash the car, taking out a few walkers in the process.

At one point in the episode, Gregory goes down to the graves and steals Glenn’s watch; Maggie punches him hard in the face during the episode.

These part of the spoilers may be hard to read since it has abuse/rape

Later in the episode, it is implied that a Saviour violate/rape Enid twice and that Carl saw both attacks. The sexual violence is implied and happens off-screen. Exactly what happens is not shown, but Enid says to Carl that “she is sorry he had to see” what was done to her. Carl goes on to say he's not sorry, because now he'll remember the guy’s face so he won't have a choice when he gets the chance to kill that prick.

Enid and Maggie have a sweet reunion and Maggie gives her Glenn’s watch.

Enid and Carl later kiss in the episode, but Carl wants to kill Saviors so he hides in their truck heading back to The Sanctuary.

Sasha is busy making plans so she asks Jesus to find out where Negan is and starts sharpening her knife, with Abe’s cigar in her mouth.

UPDATE: Person from TSDF said "Our source won't be able to get back with us for our Q&A answers until tonight... The rape/sexual assault is definitely news to me and a part of me is wondering if this is some kind of misinterpretation. However, I'm going to wait until we have our answers from our source before I go about confirming/debunking."

UPDATE 2: No rape scene.

Looks like they're setting up Sasha to take Holly's death.

Meh, I totally get what they are setting up but chalk this episode up overall as another let down.  TWD world is getting too big and now they are basically just giving us filler episodes.  Yes, technically the episodes are slowly telling a story of exactly what we know is going to happen...so some likely argue that isn't filler.

I do have one positive.  I have gone on record of what a totally unimpressive character Negan is thus far (vs the hype) but you know who needs more screen time? Simon.  Simon rules. Well done on that.  Simon is the best TWD character introduced in the last 3 seasons IMO

I haven't followed the spoilers all that much for the show this year, but here's a couple things I've kind of deducted (related to PSC's last spoiler)

We already see that Michonne is becoming Andrea from the comics.

I think it is pretty obvious that Enid is going to take on Sophia's role from the comics.

I was conflicted about Sasha and Carol's roles. But, it make sense now that Sasha is going to be Holly from the comics.

I'm still not sold on Carol taking on Michonne's role from the comics. I don't think she has the mental fortitude, This one will be interesting to watch, as I feel like she's already shown some obvious signs of cracking.
