TWD Season 7

Already said, but I'll elaborate on a point a bit.

Negan isn't some big, scary guy. He's a guy that is so powerful in his charisma and support from others that you know better than to buck him. The way I viewed comic Negan was this. Imagine if Rick and Co. took a dark turn at the prison (ignore the Governor. Let's assume he was already dead). Let's say they decided "screw it, we'll start jacking people who don't want to help or become a part of us." So they go out, help people, but require payment.  If it's a small group of survivors camping and moving all the time, it's "hey, join us, we'll give you shelter, but you work for everything you get and once you're in, you don't leave. Try and you die. Reject this offer, we kill you and take your stuff anyway". If it's a group with a stronghold and some place to live and thrive, they are treated like the KIngdom and Hilltop and now Alexandria are. Give us half your stuff, we keep the walkers and other groups away from you, and we don't kill you".

in the above scenario, Rick isn't this big intimidating guy. Sure, piercing glare and intensity, but he's just a guy with a gun/hatchet. If you have 3 guys with guns on him, you're set. However, Rick has a large following and you would know better than to fight him. That is Negan. The Saviors started with a select few, and Negan's personality took over as they grew. I think when Ezekial was talking about "faking it" with his own King Ezekial perosna, that can be applied much the same way to Negan (difference being Negan is ego-maniacal).

I hate that they haven't given us a broad shot of the Sanctuary, but they will probably whenever Rick and Co. go there for the first time (sort of to put us in Rick's mindset of "oh crap"). So yes, they shot it all within one building mostly and in a couple of different rooms during the cold open so as to not give away the sheer size of it simply for that effect.

I think they're doing this smart. You have episode 1 to set up the story for the season. Episode 2 to introduce a new group and update Carol and Morgan. Episode 3 to get more into Negan and the Saviors as well as updating Daryl. Episode 4 looks to refocus back to the main group and show what comes next for them. They're not wasting time or episodes, they're trying to hit it all the best way they can for cable television. This isn't like GoT where they can jump to 2 or 3 different places and update on everything, because TWD has commercials and about 10-15 minutes less time than GoT does on any given episode. Everybody wants to act like Breaking Bad didn't have the same issue when in fact they did. You stayed focus on that episode's specific plot and setting and maybe bounce between a couple of character's perspectives. It's not a TWD issue, it's a cable TV issue.

Daryl pretty much has hit Negan 3 times with his big cajones in front of people.  Would that play with comic Negan? Or would comic Negan let it slide because Daryl is just so dreamy and has to have him like TV TWD?

Just wait til you see what he lets Carl get away with.

And what he doesn't let Spencer get away with.

Carl is at least a kid.  People often use the cliche of "woman and children" get unique rules.

Daryl just keeps punking Negan over and over.  But this is Daryl Dixon's universe...and Negan never has existed in that.

Spoiler: Rick and Negan end up being gay lovers who unite the world and rebuild society.

Let me guess, there will be a scene right before they get together where Daryl gives off a weird vibe that maybe he would like to join in on the action but  definitely wouldn't at the same time.

Negan has principles that he's stuck to for a while.

As seen in the past with Rick and co., they are kind of making them up as they go and hoping something sticks.

Daryl has always been the guy that lives outside the group a bit, while still being tethered to it. Negan can see this and knows that he can be an asset if he can get him to conform. So, Daryl's getting some extra chances. Dary's got guts, and Negan likes that. If you ain't got guts, then you're useless in this universe.

I freaking laughed my ass off. Comic Carl is better than TV carl. By a long shot. I was wondering how they would fix the whole Glenn/Abraham situation since in the comics it happens very differently. I was actually satisfied seeing Abe and Glenn take a skull fuging by Lucille. I know kind of morbid but the shock value was worth it. I also feel that after that episode they kind of "blew their load" so to speak in the season. I feel people will lose interest. Don't care tho, i'll keep watching. lol.
