The comic is the series. The show is just some poo with pearls in it.

Books are books.  Movies are movies. TV shows are TV shows and comics are comics.

this thread is about TWD TV Show. Negan isn't the best character.  Carl also sucks in THIS series as well.  This series also features people and plots that differ from the comic series.

I don't recall with TWD ever seeing a moment so unintentionally hilarious that I had to rewind my DVR immediately to see if it was as bad as I thought.

The scene I'm talking about is when Eugene was walking outside with Negan's three wives, and the drunk blonde girl mumbles, "We're just his slaves" or something. It looked like a highschool video production class reenacting a scene from TWD. The show has completely jumped the shark imo.

Yep, full on poo show at this point.

note: I'm not hate-watching the show either. I legitimately thought this episode might be awesome and was rooting for it to be. Instead, like everyone here called, we got another episode of "Look how mean Negan is!".

This is because the show has a weekly contest winner from surrounding high schools that get to write for the show.

Dreadful dialogue.  Just dreadful.

It's become Lost with Zombies.

FWIW I thought this was the best episode of this second half of the season.

For one, it had Negan.

Secondly, it had Eugene featured pretty prominently.

There was still lots to nitpick and, yes, the dialogue is still front and center.

Important thing the average viewer won't pick up on:

"Good thing we got us another Dr. Carson" - Negan's talking about the Dr. Carson out at Hilltop, the brother of the guy that went into the furnace. I expect this will cause some problems because of Maggie's pregnancy if the plan is to bring in the other Dr. Carson.

I wonder if Sherry ever shows back up... That may be Dwight's major turncoat moment, aside from what they've already milked out of his plot line. Say Sherry shows back up, Negan's gonna have a problem with Dwight's lies. He'll obviously have to flee. I hope she does come back because of things that are happening in the comic right now...

If I had to guess, without looking up any spoilers, that's how it is going to play out. Dr. Carson gets imported to the Sanctuary. Sherry shows back up. Dwight, Eugene, and Dr. Carson flee. Negan rages. Tara leads Rick and Co. to Oceanside to get guns for the Scavengers. Something happens that draws Ezekiel and the kingdom into the mix, and we finish up with the war pretty much just beginning.

The show was much better when they did not have the money for CGI, when the FX were makeup & made... The tiger, Rick over the junkyard backdrop & tonight's walker on the fence are just out of place, like they were just a few bucks short of paying their cgi editors..

it does seem to be dragging more than in previous seasons.. giving us a singular timeline broken into episodes for a few characters. Go him this week, they get 2 weeks then backtrack to show this guy at the same time as the last 2 weeks... just want the show to progress, not watch for 4weeks to not get anywhere....

I'll be honest and I am kinda ashamed of it....but I totally didn't think about the Hilltop Dr when he said that.

I imagine Sherry returns or at the very least her fate is addressed/confirmed.   I don't see Sherry returning to the Sanctuary under her own free will again.

If I had to guess about The Kingdom getting involved it will come down to Carol.  She will be the one that gets Ezekiel to join the fight.  So it comes down to what gets Carol involved.  I think Carol is out of the loop enough that since Daryl didn't spill the beans here motivation will to get involved will come from somewhere else.   They have set the page for the Kingdom dropoffs w/ the Saviors of becoming more problematic.  Last one Morgan a little fight.  I think Morgan gets killed in an interaction w/ the Saviors.  Probably forced to step in when his young bow apprentice gets in the mix or something.  Carol ain't getting her switched flipped unless she knows her people are killed by them.  Morgan would be the biggest pacifist of all her people.   The Carol gets Ezekiel to join.  As the bad exchange means their old way of life and dealing w/ the Saviors is over after the exchange gone bad.  Just my guess.

Still hate Negan's character.  Simon and Dwight are the best thing about the Saviors.

I really enjoyed the Eugene episode, it was pretty unexpected how it played out, but it totally made sense, and those are the episodes I enjoy the most. After I caught up on it my wife and I watched this new show on ABC about gay people in the 70s and I started calling out what was going to happen next in the story, boring. Being pleasantly surprised by a show in it's 7th season is a treat.

    • Agreed on the last part. They can’t afford to lose all these games with Martin and Perets.
    • Yes.  And this converts directly to confidence.  Does the coach have confidence to call a deep dig or seam route?  Does Bryce have confidence in his ability to be the Alpha?  Do his teammates have confidence.  About film--when I see Cam Newton's pre-snap confidence vs. Bryce's, it is night and day.   Film--tells you if the WRs are open (why l love watching the Replay telecasts from the end zone cameras--you can see it.  I have seen 2 WRs open and Bryce's eyes are on the outlet WR or the pass rush. )  You can see progressions, and he has improved a bit--but he is very quick to rush through 1 and 2 and checkdown--that is a lack of confidence in his ability to read the defense.  I had a former NFL TE (Deems Maye) who played QB in high school (not sure about college) tell me that the best QBs read the defense by knowing where everyone will be when the ball is to arrive--not where they are.  I think his QB at the time was Humphries.  He said that Humphries would throw the ball into coverage before the cuts etc.  because he understood DB momentum, zone areas, etc.  and he could just see it.  Said so when people say nobody was open, they are usually right because nobody should be "open" when the QB has the ball--when the ball arrives, everyone should be open.  He said Humphries was never "great" but his skills were limited--from a small school--but his ability to read a defense made him never give up on a route.
