don't worry, next episode will be a Negan episode.  So you will get plenty of back arching, over acting, teeth sucking, and monologues about how bad Negan is and how scared everyone should be.

If we're lucky. If not it will be another "original" plot arc that will suck even more of the life out of the story.

Negan is the only interesting part right now though lol.

Yeah it's obvious the woman clan is going to have to help Rick somehow.

The show is a B-show and that's how I treat it.  When my A shows are watched I start watching B shows, etc.  I suggest others treat it the same.    Once I took it off the pedestal years ago, it's more entertaining.   Definitely a flawed show and this whole "split season" thing is terrible and I haven't seen it work on a show, period.   Vikings tried it this year and it wasn't as good, and a lot of that is the same reason it sucks for WD, they drag out everything to fill in the episodes.    AMC and History probably realized they don't have much else going on and this is their breadwinner so they'll drag it out as long as they can, quality be damned.

To each his own.  I find him annoying and his speeches to be eye rolling.  He feels too cartoony to be believable  as a person to me.  Also, Eugene might be my least favorite from the main group, outside of Carl or course.

I agree with everything you have said on being your B show as well as the split seasons.  This and the spinoff are probably the worst two shows I watch, but I do realize they are much better than most of what I do not watch.  Aside from those two Vikings, and Better Call Saul, the only things I watch are on pay channels or streaming services.  It is definitely unfair to compare this to those things.

The split seasons has been one of the things I have felt have reduced quality for a long time.  I was worried when Vikings did it and I think we agree it would have been better in less episodes.  I enjoyed a lot of what they did on that show but if they had done those twenty episodes in 10-12 they could have lost a lot of crap it would have been so much better.  Most seasons of TWD would be better as 8-10 episodes.  But, like you said, the network needs it stretched out because they make so much more when those things are on.

TV Negan and the new Trash Folk both represent a more cartoonish approach IMO to the show.  They sort of pull off Ezekiel as he admits it is a show/act and he actually is "normal" but his Tiger CGI Tiger sucks.

Walking Dead tried to be a gritty real show set in a zombie world.  It worked.  Show writers clearly got lost trying to build their own version within the blueprint. All they are doing is making comic strengths (so the fans say) bad and the few strengths they went rogue on now bad too

The tiger really is bad.  The first time I thought it was just because I was streaming and it seemed jumpy with the tiger, but yeah.  I do not hold that against them though, I imagine they do not have much budget for it.  GoT has a much larger budget and I know one of the reason the direwolves do so little is because of how much it costs.  I read that in the most recent battle they had to make a choice between Ghost and the Giant but could not do both.  I would imagine TWD has a much lower CGI budget.

The way the trash people talked was very annoying and made them worse.  As someone else mentioned, people talking like that would make more sense 100 years from now, not three.

Additionally I thought the trash people were a joke and were less than intimidating. Less. Than. I literally chuckled thinking of them in a fight. It made whatever threatening stance or position they were supposed to have just laughable. The show has dropped far from the gritty real world zombie apocalypse show to...a show I have to watch to completion now.

That is as true a statement as has been made about this show.  Reminds me of Dexter in that way.  Although the best was better and the worst was worse than what TWD has done, it is still a very similar situation.

There's a collective tv ADD at play as well. Most shows fall apart like a 30 yr old rb around season 6 and drop off from there.

I don't see how i watch once they kill Negan.

True.

I am ready for Rick, Daryl and Carol to all meet John Locke outside the church prior to going into the light.  I feel obligated to watch now since I use to enjoy it....despite not enjoying it anymore.
