This is true. Especially the last part about Morgan and Carol. FWIW they both already turned once. Carol at Terminus and in the fallout of it, and Morgan when he saved Carol. Morgan has obviously gone back to being the old Morgan and Carol just mentally checked out. If/when either of them come around again, it is something they've already done, so it loses any novelty.

Yep.  Which is another issue they have of repeating the same patterns over and over.

I mean, I think it is safe to say Morgan will get his stick back.  He will get it back when he "turns" again.

Carol will probably save everyone from an impossible scenario as well when she finally gets the news.

but those characters have been so ruined it won't be awesome.

I just don't really get why the show added the junkyard group.

I mean, yeah, it gives them reinforcements. But why the hell did they come across as Zod and his band of alien gangsters with Lord of the Rings-esque names living in a junkyard and taking other groups' stuff.

It's just incoherent filler at this point. Sure, in a dystopian future in 50-100 years people devolve to a state where they can't speak proper English. AFAIK we're only like 2-3 years into the zombie apocalypse, and you've got Tamiel and Jadis leading a group of Mad Max-esque ruffians with hard-ons for guns and who can't talk properly. GTFO with that garbage.

If you want to be spoiled about this whole group, then

  Spoiler Alert!

supposedly they show up to work with Rick and co. but once the real fighting with the Saviors start, they turn coat and start fighting alongside them.

This just makes introducing this group even worse.

If the showrunners had any balls or just basic writing skills, they would have had Daryl spill the beans to Carol, have her rally Ezekiel, and we could just get on with it.

But no. Now we're gonna have another Savior only episode where we once again get shown how bad these guys are, as if we don't already know. There will be hints of

  Spoiler Alert!

Dwight starting to have a change of heart

so I guess there is that... but omg get on with it, please.

They never even really clarified why Rick was smiling at the end of the last episode, other than some garbage about how someone once showed him that "enemies could be turned to friends" or some other such nonsense.

They need to just end the show, really, if they are going to continue to go the routes they've been going.

I thought the weird talk was to mask what they were really saying/thinking. It's not like they will run across a group of Germans or something, and there wouldn't be a huge Latino group. It's like a pig Latin or code I think.

This was like a really bad episode of Star Trek.  The saving grace being the Daryl and Carol scene, which I thought was well done.

The trash people really seemed like they were from a different show.  Also the entire plot to introduce them was just bad.

They have killed Carol.  It is worse than the Rick job they did.  It doesn't even make sense.  They made Carol too smart to be the pathetic character she is now.  She didn't even question why Daryl was solo and hiding out.  They made Carol into a character that shouldn't believe Daryl telling lying to her no matter how "broken" she is suppose to be.  She isn't broken anymore just a tired character

I really enjoyed the Daryl/Carol reunion.  They use to be my two favorite characters until Daryl rode around on a bike for half a season and has done nothing since while Carol, I do not even know what.  That part of the episode was my favorite thing in a long time.

Outside of that the last two episodes have not been great, but not terrible, basically average.  The exception is this new group, they seem out of place.  Their only purpose that I can see at this point is so we have extra people that can die and also a catalyst for Tara to take us to the woman's group for the guns.

All that being said, I enjoyed these two a lot more than the last half season as well as much of the season before that.  Next week appears to be a Negan episode though with Eugene as the only member of our group so I may just skip it and get a synopsis from you guys.

Negan is the only interesting part right now though lol.

Yeah it's obvious the woman clan is going to have to help Rick somehow.

The show is a B-show and that's how I treat it.  When my A shows are watched I start watching B shows, etc.  I suggest others treat it the same.    Once I took it off the pedestal years ago, it's more entertaining.   Definitely a flawed show and this whole "split season" thing is terrible and I haven't seen it work on a show, period.   Vikings tried it this year and it wasn't as good, and a lot of that is the same reason it sucks for WD, they drag out everything to fill in the episodes.    AMC and History probably realized they don't have much else going on and this is their breadwinner so they'll drag it out as long as they can, quality be damned.

Casual fans are getting what they want from the show, and man does it suck.

don't worry, next episode will be a Negan episode.  So you will get plenty of back arching, over acting, teeth sucking, and monologues about how bad Negan is and how scared everyone should be.
