That episode was embarrassingly awful in just about every way it could be.

My thoughts were similar. Bad acting, incoherent plot, etc.

the car clothesline line was cool and Jerry is comedy relief gold, but otherwise pretty meh.

Yep, the dialogue was terrible too, and more shots of them "walking in solidarity" and more fuging meaningful looks. I didn't even like the car clothesline, especially when Rick and Michonne gave each other one of those meaningful looks. Who the hell wastes dynamite on that many walkers?  This episode felt like it should be on Syfy or ABC or CBS or some poo.

Just terrible, other than Simon.

So Gabriel took all the food as a sign of goodwill gesture to work with the "lady camp" and they all came back with him to get revenge on Negan?    Gabriel knew of the camp I think because whats-her-face confided in him.    Rick smiled because he seen Gabriel at the end I'm guessing.    Made sense to have them meet him there because he couldn't bring that army into the camp without raising flags.

I think this is a new group. They are known by spoiler folk as the Garbage Pail Kids, because they seem to be based in a junkyard or something like it.

I think Gabriel got yoked when he was making his rounds through the pantry (the crashing sound) and whomever got him made him load everything up.

He took it and his abductor to their location because he had no other choice. I think Rick smiled because he saw Gabriel or something or someone else familiar (I heard rumors that maybe Morales and his family (from earlier seasons) are in this group?)

Anyway, they killed whatever momentum they gained at the intro and the last 5 minutes with that smile... that was stupid.

YES YES YES!

The clothesline thing was just cool in that I don't recall a zombie lore movie or anything else doing that... pretty neat way to hack through a bunch of them at once (need to keep it in mind for the future.)

But, I didn't even get why they stopped and bothered with the dynamite. You gonna rig a huge bomb and lure Negan's group in? lol

LOL the "ready" look they exchanged before taking off.

Cheesy lines... pointless scenes... It really just screams "drag it out as long as possible"

Nicotero usually does decently when he directs an episode, but this one was just garbage.

after what I thought was a bad first half of the season...I expected a strong opening to the second half after they regrouped and were forced to realize the show was trending in the wrong direction.

The fall continues.  There just isn't any suspense or much interested in what will happen.  Most of the main characters are getting played out.

at this point the show seems like it would be the most interesting if Simon just took off on his own to go explore the world and we followed his new adventure.

Oh you can definitely count Aaron's boyfriend/husband/whoever he was is bout to get got soon.  Oh, look at the random Alexandria person suddenly is going to come out of nowhere to get some screen time.  So I guess the next time one of the crew bucks up and should be killed we know who will take it.   I imagine we see more lover spats between those two in the next couple episodes so that we will care.....Walking Dead employs the same repeated tactics over and over.   Like someone is suppose to be surprised when one of out favorite's is about to get killed and then Carol appears out of nowhere back into Terminator mode to save the day leading up to this war.

Everything on the show is just too predictable.   Especially this entire story arc and the slow play of it.

I guess they're gonna use the dynamite when they

attack the saviors and draw the horde in

.

I had to look up who directed the episode, it was so bad, and was really disappointed that it was Nicotero.

Am agreeing that there is a lot of cliche with how thing are unfolding.  The dynamite going off was a plot device to keep the saviors from wondering where all of it went when they do their routine checks and find a compromised trap.

The whole Gabriel search and the significance of the footprint at the boathouse has yet to be obvious to me.  For the time being, it's okay vice to have in the background while I do my other work.
