There just isn't enough time in 45 minutes to have so many locations.   Combined with all the little chats, it's hard to get the content in.

Also, how many talks and speeches at this point are we going to have about "how the world is now bro"?   I think at this point, if you're alive, you mostly understand that.   Seems we get to waste time by having these convos all the time.    Let stories unfold and tell that story without having pow-wow's all the time.

That being said, I didn't hate the episode, seeing other settlements is pretty cool but they have a big issue with handling multiple locations and redundant conversations.

I have the unmistakable feeling that so many human conversations are redundant.

I hate to say it, but this season, even with all of the shocks, blood and guts, just seems to be dragging. And last week's episode was the slowest, least interesting one I've seen in a looooong time. And talk about characters that if they hadn't done something, we'd have just written them off as lost to the walkers if any of us had actually remembered Tara and whatshisname.

But at least it sets up where they'll get their guns to fight Negan eventually I guess.

Great episode. Well paced, moving multiple plots along, good set up for an interesting midseason finale. Negan's interactions with Carl were perfect. Literally chuckled through most of them.

Interesting to see what comes out of Negan being in Alexandria when Rick comes back and how that plays. May be the push Rick needs to see him there when he comes back and get told that he was holding Judith.

If the episode runs the whole way and we don't get at least the hint that Alexandria and The Kingdom are going to be acquainted in the midseason premiere, I'll be bummed though. I feel like they've stretched the subplots far enough, time to start moving the main plot a bit.

Also, will Daryl actually make it out? If he does, where does he end up? I wouldn't think he'd make it back to Alexandria. Maybe Morgan is heading back and snags him up on the way to Alexandria?

This episode was a breath of fresh air after that abomination they called episode 6.

well, I have been brutal to Negan thus far this year.  The show did a better job with him this episode.  I wouldn't say it was good yet but it was nice to see an improvement.

the Negan logic in terms of his rules and how they selectively apply differently just to our group still makes things hard to watch.   Oh, Carl just killed more of your men and said he was going to kill you again.... as punishment he gets a verbal ball busting and then Negan basically verbally comes back on top of that and hugs him, gives him a bottle of milk, rocks him to sleep telling him how special he is.   Um, ok.  I know you are trying to hit your comic milestones but the logic playing out still is lacking.  Carl even sort of called Negan out on how the fact everyone is getting passes.    I mean, after that they could of had Carl pee in Negan's cereal and then been like, bruh, you ain't actually going to do nothing.

Same when he first busted out of the back of the truck?  How is Negan not dead?  Because he might of had a Savior human shield for a second?  He literally walked right up to meet his maker.   If you are willing to blindly go in there and shoot up a bunch of folks....the storytelling logic doesn't make sense to have Negan literally walk in front of Carl (who just killed Saviors)...then not shoot him.   At least have bad aim Carl botch a shot, geez.

Worst episode of the season so far. Just a bunch of talking, Negan bragging, and a couple of gore porn scenes. Nothing happened to advance the plot and the whole episode felt like filler. They jumped around from character to character destroying the tensions in the scenes where Daryl acted like a jilted wife who was jealous that Negan was with his new side bitch, Carl. Who gives a fug about Gabriel, Spencer, Rosita, Eugene and the rest since we haven't even seen them for two whole fuging episodes. And who is that guy with Rick and why should I give a poo about him? This whole show has gone downhill and the next episode will probably be the WORST EVER.

No but that best friend montage of Negan feeling his toes against the carpet, being fascinated with a kitchen faucet etc was SO dope!   Negan is a onion and they are just pulling back the layers.  I going to name my next kid after Scott Gimple.

but seriously, could Gimple be more obvious Olivia is about to get got?  Who is Olivia? Oh just a random Alexandrian who suddenly is only second in screen to time Negan of late...please care about her!
