Haven't seen a season 7 only topic yet.

Will just leave you with this.

"That's not how it works!
Now, I already told you people...
First one's free, then what did I say? I said, I will shut that s**t down!
No exceptions.

Now I don't know what kind of lying assholes you been dealing with, but I'm a man of my word.
First impressions are important.
I need you to know me.
So.....
Back to it!"

Maybe this thread will be less about showing off =P

As I said in the other thread, I was very upset watching the first one (mostly from the stuff with Rick and Carl, I put myself in there, and man, that made me feel sick).  But that was actually very good writing, acting, and direction.

So, my what's interesting to me is how they are going to deal with the Saviors.  I figure we'll get several episodes where Alexandria completely cow-tows to Negan and the Saviors. But the Kingdom...dude has a tiger, I don't think he puts up with that kind of poo...  I figure that Daryl will take on the role of Carl from the comics (don't hate, I did some spoiling), and do those things after he has some time to do some stuff.

Who do you think dies next from the main group?  I figure that Rick is going to recover a bit, and push back on the bars a little.  Who will Negan kill next?  I think the Kingdom is going to help foster Rick's revolution through Morgan (who will have to kill someone, you know this), and Carol will fall back into her hardcore psycho killer mode.  Is it bad that I enjoy that from her?

Lost in all this hubris is the amazing job Andrew Lincoln and Jeffery Dean Morgan did. That's probably what I'm mad about. They both turned in award worthy performances under very tough circumstances, but everyone wants to cry about the amount of violence and string pulling in a show full of violence and string pulling. And it's only the people that are unfamiliar with the source material that are acting like twats.

Oh, Ezekiel is a big teddy bear. He only has a tiger because he used to train them or something.

THIS!  I kept putting myself in Ricks shoes...  I once even thought of myself as Carl and wondering what my own father would do.  I had some serious gut wrenching moments watching this part of the show.  I had the first death tagged after the finale,  As the slugging experience developed we all knew who was next.

I miss binge watching this show sometimes.  That being said I do really like the wait from week to week.  There is time to process and gather a thoughts on what has happened.  It's also a huge upper for as Sunday afternoon's haven't went that well as of late.

It was easier to binge the earlier seasons I think.  After terminus, things have gotten really intense, and I really just need that time to process.  If TWD is going to continue to push this hard, I will definitely need that time!

my assumption was the Kingdom was going to be basically like Hilltop.  Already making payments to Negan.  Hilltop has always implied from the beginning the world was much bigger than Rick was aware of.  So assume any group the Hilltop deals with likely is already caught up w/ Negan.

Indeed.  I have no idea.  I do know that all the preview shots of it look totally badass...  I'll hold on to that dream before they crush it =)

I truly don't get people complaining about violence on this show... that's what it's based on, and to me, it really wasn't that violent... some gore yes, but they could have made it way, way worse.  I thought they held back frankly.

The part about Negan making Rick cut off Carl's arm was sickening to think about in a "real world" sense, but even had he made him actually do it, it wouldn't have been that bad for the show.

I haven't heard that many really complain about violence.  Past year or so most of the bashing is on the increase of gimmicks and the apparent need to throw off comic readers.

I'm a weird way, Negan reminded me of The Dark Knights Joker.

Joker: "And I thought my jokes were bad"

Negan: "Oh come on, was the joke that bad"

Joker "People will die tonight, I am a man of my word"

Negan: "I told you someone had to die, and I'm a man of my word".

Joker "I don't want to kill you, what would I do without you?"

Negan didn't say that, but did stop a lot of walker from killing Rick during the RV scene.

The comment "make sure to point your guns level to there nose so it makes a big mess *spssh blasting sound*".

Okay, so I am a little late to the party.  I just finally watched the episode (when you work 6am-8pm M-F you watch stuff on tape delay).

I honestly was not a major fan of the episode.  To be truthful, I found Negan to be annoying more than anything.  In the spirit of full disclosure, I am not a comic reader and my opinion of the show was severely tarnished recently due to multiple things, the dumpster and the cliffhanger being the two most glaring.  Watching it sometimes feels like a chore the way Dexter did in the end or Homeland does right now.  I use to love it and I see the potential, but the showrunners have bumbled so many opportunities that I not longer trust them.  So I admit, I probably have some negative bias going on (although I also think comic readers may have bias because of how much they love Negan from the comics, but I digress).

I tihnk that the death scene(s) would have had a much greater impact if shown last season (or if shown as an Abe last year, Glenn the this year surprise sort of thing).

I will say that the best part of the episode by far was Lincoln's acting.  His performance on top of the RV, as well as during the Carl scene were both top notch.  It would have been a lot tougher had I any care for Carl whatsoever, sadly Chandler Riggs is not believable as a person.  Still, he was excellent.

I really hope though that we do not have to wait until the middle of the second half for things to get going again though.  They have to stop drawing things out as long as possible.  I wish this thing was on HBO, of course I wish everything I watch was on HBO.
