Hadn't heard a peep from Beason after we traded him and went on to win the division three years in a row, but we start badly this year and he can't keep our name out of his mouth

Because he just retired and is now entering the media realm and being asked questions.

in fariness, no other athletes in Carolina have ever dealt with the media BS Cam has.  So it is easier for them to "just answer the questions like a man" because for the most part they have been handed a steady onslaught of BS since the day they were drafted.

But Cam does need to get better.

But Beason wasn't baited and edited for national stories every day of his career.....like Cam is.  Easier said then done.

ITT Homers apologizing for sub-standard behavior.  I understood this at the Super Bowl because it was a bad setup (opposing team interviews in same area) and on a different emotional level.

Handling regular season losses this way is a different matter and immature.  He's being paid to do a job and to act as a leader.  Part of those responsibilities includes handling the media in a professional manner.  Period.

What is you definition of being in a professional manner?  Everyone has there own definitions...There isn't a rulebook on this..

i have a hard time ever feeling sorry for the media in this situation. literally complaining because a star player doesn't want to talk to them, making it harder for them to shovel more poo for the day. when has a presser ever had any valuable information come out of it? the questions are 3rd grade level and meaningless. completely superficial reports of the same poo day in and day out. questions that are angled to write a 3 paragraph story soon to be tossed on the heap.

sports reports are either aimed at a superficially interesting topic: who was injured today? what happened on that throw/hit? how tough is it to play in the NFL? what do you think about concussions?

or they are about... stats: here's a list of stats that we've organized for you to look at easily, now pay us 5 bucks. here, i've bought special game tape and will make educated guesses about what the play actually was to determine who is a good player.

if more sports reporters were actually interesting to follow or good at their job, maybe i'd feel bad for them. otherwise reporters who "call cam out" are just being a mouthpiece for their network employer or themselves, who want to be able to ask their stupefying questions for another day.

thanks for being a man beason and answering those dumbass questions. thanks for helming a shitty team for most of your career. thanks for calling out peppers that one time who got to the nfl before you and is leaving after you as a more productive player.

Do this, Cam. Do that, Cam. Forget about doing what made you an elite athlete. Do everything how we want you to do it. Keep in mind, if you start to suck or play badly, we're going to criticize you. Hell, were going to criticize you anyways. Cut your hair, Cam. No tattoos or cornrows, Cam. We know you answered the interview questions and asked if anyone had anymore questions, but sit there until they tell you to leave, Cam.

Jeez, he's better than me. Everyone would have been tuned out.

You know how it goes. It's all good when you're doing what they want you to do, aka being the good black. Cam, you're smiling too much and not taking the game serious. Cam you're not being a man. You know what this boils down to. If Brady or Rogers were our quarterback and walked out, it would be described as the most passionate thing. Cam will do Cam. You will take him as he is because it's VERY clear you're not getting anything else. The media and "fans" have got to learn this.

My only thing with Cam moping around is how it will be viewed in the locker room, and how it will affect the locker room Chemistry. If I was in that locker room, I'd probably say something to him to the effect of "hey, we are hurting too, this is not about you". We're in this together. we lose together, and we win together

It is true despite some people here believing the only person in the world of football you cant question is Cam Newton.

Maybe more people should be questioning the idiotic process of post game press conferences and who exactly does it serve besides the media...
