So there's a 3:36 second video embedded which shows what it does.  You can play in a cradle on your TV with an xbox meets PS4 style controller.  You can pop on some handles and take the main unit with you, which contains a sizable screen.  You can then pop those handles off and share a game with a friend, use them together to play games, or things can get as weird as you want.

What I found most concerning was that good looking TV models will go from playing actual basketball to playing NBA on a small screen with shared controllers the size of a captain's wafer...or instead of having drinks at a rooftop party, they would rather play mario, again, around a tiny screen....

It's an interesting concept, that's for sure, but I'm not sure how much better this than existing mobile platforms.  Anyone excited about it?

I'll give them credit for being original with the design, but you know most people are just going to keep it hooked up to their TVs.  I'm sure parents will love it for long car rides with their kids.  I wonder what the battery life will be like and if you'll need WiFi to play outside of the house.  I've never been a huge Nintendo guy after the N64, but I know the die hards will be all over this.

Looks amazing. I have a Wii U and love it, but not being able to take the tablet everywhere was a bummer. Not only do you get to do that here, but the different control types, HD console-quality gaming on the go are awesome. Absolute must-buy.
