I just don't want another 7-9 season with nothing to show for it... again.

I hate having to bite the bullet as much as the next guy. But once Josh got let go, you pretty much had to see this coming. Not the losing part. That was unexpected to say the least. But the growing pains in the Secondary were kinda to be expected.

The kids getting a good look was part of the plan. We have to know who we have, so that this off-season we can attack our weaknesses.

Say Bradberry plays up to his potential? That Whorley, and Johnson keep improving. By the end of the year, CB just may not be a position of need any longer.

Or how about now that Daryl seems to have taken over at RT. We are only a LT away from having a very good Oline.

All of a sudden, we are only a couple of players from being very close to a complete football team. With money to spend, and a draft to assist. We are setting ourselves up nicely for next year.

But yeah. This year still sux.

Yeah..losing to division rivals hurts mathematically and emotionally lol.

And thanks for the welcome! I lurked most of last year and decided to finally sound off this year.

You sure picked a good year to join in. Well, you've seen us at our best, like last year. Now you get to see us a little less so this year.

I will say this about this joint. You will learn something, and you WILL be entertained along the way.

Ron makes me mad every time he speaks here lately. I feel like there's a lot of hot air coming out.

The offense can carry us. If the defense bothered to show up, we'd be alright. The offense, for all its miscues and mistakes, has pretty much remained steady as far as scoring (except the TB game). The defense can't keep the opposing offense off of the field. This is a train wreck. I'm frustrated and I'm a fan so I know the guys are frustrated.

This is getting tired.

First, selling you on the 49ers from 1981 winning the SB with a rookie secondary. Need not mention they were in rebuilding phase, that the rules favored physical DBs, and 2 of those picks were All Pro caliber. Telling me Bradberry, Worley, or Sanchez were Ronnie Lott was a bit much.

Second, trying to make everyone comfortable by announcing the Panthers are experienced at opening up the season behind the 8 ball with a 1-3 record. Have confidence. This team knows how to be ineffective to start a season and then throw everything at the wall hoping it sticks. Been there done that BS.

Third, using the Chiefs outlier season start to convince people this is routine, can be done, and is all part of the plan.

I do not believe Rivera actually knows what this valued piece of art on his wall actually means...

Maybe  Rivera's misunderstanding of what this cartoon actually means has led him to desire putting himself in the underdog role. He is not prepared to elevate beyond this mindset.

If you want to get the deeper meaning to this cartoon, then study Epictetus. Understanding those philosophies will help to elevate you to a level of champion and legacy. Not this underdog poo.

Here you go Rivera., show this to the players and fans the next time you need to motivate them, and tell them that this was your plan all along.

Andy Reid is a legitimate NFL coach, and the Chiefs had a real pass rush. There aren't many similarities between the 2015 Chiefs and the 2016 Panthers.

A legit pass rush and legit pieces in their secondary

our only hope would be Cam playing lights out every single game....and for him to do that is dependent on good OL play, WR play, etc to all be on point the entire time

Our best hope is the defense do good early and the offense jumps out on a lead. But this staff has shown us no adjustments in the 2nd halves so idk if that even matters

I'm trying my best to be optimistic about this team.  The talent for the most part is still there from a team that had a 14 game winning streak at some point.  Thing is, the 2015 Chiefs didn't have Shula as an OC, Remmers as their starting tackle, or Mike Tolbert trying to block for Alex Smith.  We have  more to overcome than that team did.

Didn't they actually have a defense?

We may end up with one as well with Bradberry, Johnson and McClain coming back which is a huge huge boost to the secondary. Might not make it top 10 or anything but it'll atleast be respectable. And with Butler back and possibly moving KK to end more our line could have better play as well. I'm still optimistic that we can have a shot at the playoffs if we can correct things over the bye while getting guys healthy. If we lose to the Cardinals though that's about when I'd lose hope and would be getting ready for a high draft pick.

I honestly don't think he can score enough to makeup for what this defense is gonna give up.

How this defense has fallen this far this quick is incomprehensible and especially when your head coach is a "defensive" coach
