Dashon Goldson 32 years old has been released by the Falcons.  Any chance we bring him in to play SS, and move coleman back to his pro-bowl position at FS? Goldson is older, and slower, but could be another Roman Harper type in the box safety, and free Kurt up to do some ball hawking.  Do you guys think is it worth a shot?

A 1-5 team should not be bringing in aging veterans to provide a temporary fix.  You go with youth and gain experience so the team can improve moving forwards.  IMHO bringing in Goldson would be counter-productive to the teams future.

I don't see anything wrong with bringing players along slowly. That was pretty much standard back in the day. You put players into the frying pan before they are actually ready, and suddenly everyone wants to throw the player into the dumpster as fuel for the impending fire.

We should be in heavy player evaluation mode now, which means we need to take a long look at our rookies and scrubs in live fire on Sundays. Replacing a rookie or scrub with another scrub isn't going to change our fate. It's over. We need to evaluate what we have so we can clean house in the off season, and add to our core with high draft picks and good free agents.

Let's be real here, folks.

Nobody that's in the unemployment line six weeks into the season is gonna come in and cause a spectacular turnaround.

The team can - and will - churn the roster from time to time but anybody expecting to find a savior coming off his couch really needs to lower their expectations.

It "may not hurt" but it also may not make us any better. Guys are unemployed for a reason.
