10 Point Dogs

I am just going from Danny Sheridan's odds on USAToday, first thing I googled. Weird that he'd be 1.5 points off everyone else. Except for Stations, they are Dallas -9.5. I'd jump all over Carolina too if I was a betting man (I very rarely bet on sports, just love watching the lines). Heck, if it gets over 10 I will find some place to bet on the game online, it'd be that good of a line for my once a year or so sports bet. :)

Why are you so confident that the line will move towards DAL, panther4life? If that's the case obviously makes sense to bet on Dallas now and on the Panthers later, once the line has moved -- guarantee a profit.

From Bodog:

Who will throw more INTs:

Romo (-110)

Delhomme (-120)

Will Jessica Simpson be mentioned by her full name during the broadcast of the Monday Night Football game between the Carolina Panthers and the Dallas Cowboys?

Yes (+200)

No (-300)

That last one is seriously a Prop on Bodog. I might jump all over the Yes. Both props are locked at the moment though.

I'd go with no on that. Hilarious bet though.

Does not compute...

just a hunch i have and lots of experience. it moved against philly a whole 2 points leading up to the game. it also moved slightly against atlanta..vegas always adjust their odds if the betting is lopsided and the cowgirls being "americas team" most people are going to take them giving up the points, therefore their going to want more people to bet on the panthers and to encourgage them to do so the best way is to give the panthers more points

and i'm not following your math on guranteeing a profit?? please explain

Ten point dogs at home after coming off of their season opening loss to a division rival... hmm, I'd have to take the Panthers on this one, but not without some trepidation.

I think it'll be close, like a field goal. But I do want the Panthers to win.

The games are getting closer. Philly was 38-10 Atl was 28-20 so we should get this game 38-10 if the trend continues... ;)

I think you mean we should win 30-18.

Opponents points decrease by ten, our points increase by ten. Unless you were working on some curve and supposed that the point differential was not linear.

I like this logic, that means we beat the Redskins 40-8, hmm, weird, two field goals and a safety.

We would then beat Tamps 50-(-2), so, I guess the the negative would default to 0.

Vegas knows there are a lot of Cowboy homer idiots who will bet on the Cowboys as long as the spread isn't completely out of control. Same for Notre Dame fans.

Vegas will take all the money on the Cowgirls and laugh all the way to the bank when Dallas doesn't cover an inflated spread.

Standard business procedure.

I imagine it's been mentioned at some point on the board in the last 4 days...but Dallas is favored by 10 points Monday night according to Vegas.

Can anyone remember the last time we were double digit underdogs to anyone? I sure can't.

19.5, Wow that's a huge spread. Just goes to show how lousy we were that year.

    • Okay, that day in Vegas had to embarrass him completely. Andy showed him how to do the job.  What I think when I go there, why did it take Andy? He has had game after game of watching actual NFL QBs work and that didn't do it?  Anyhow Andy did not mess around, he stood in there and did his job and got rid of the ball ahead of the pressure. Down the field. With the same players Bryce had. Night and day.  If that didn't wake him up nothing ever would. But I don't think he has any sort of top NFL QB in him, he just lacks the full tool kit.
    • Team is dangerous right now, all four lines are contributing and the speed at which the guys play at is tremendous.
    • And every nfl player wannabe tries to up their draft position through things like the combine and theyre all basically lying though those drills theyve practiced hundreds of times that have little bearing on if theyre a good football player. The pro days are even worse. All you have to do is dupe 1 team. Is it right? No. But until teams put more emphasis on college tape vs. What they did in shorts with no defense it'll happen every year. I doubt there is a single player that wouldn't try anything to up their draft prospects.  Young had years of tape and that shouldve been what the decision was based on. Not a scale and throwing in shorts.  ( btw I think the combine and pro days are 90% a waste of time) Young has it financially made already. It's up to him if he wants to be a good football player too. I think the benching was the best thing that could've happened to him. It remains to be seen if it was enough
