The NFL is no longer a quarterback league. It's an offensive line league.

The NFL is supposedly a quarterback league. That’s why teams are handing out big money deals to serviceable passers. But maybe the success the 5-1 Cowboys are enjoying this season will convince teams to take a new approach. A great quarterback can take an average offense and make it good. A great offensive line, however, can take a flawed quarterback and turn him into a star.

It's stunning that Cam Newton and his terrible offensive tackle situation is not mentioned in this article.

It's true. I hate Cowturd but he was right about this.

Find your qb, then protect him, then get him weapons.

We have our qb. Our o-line is hot garbage at the tackle positions, and we have a fullback that can throw a block unless it's at the line at Golden Corral.

I'd rather see our D take a backseat in FA and the draft and start protecting Cam.

Cam went 15-1 and was the league MVP with "okay" OL play.

Dak Prescott getting that RGIII rookie treatment.  People acting like he is good despite the fact he does very little.  All it will take is 1 season for the NFL to wreck a team playing with a QB playing super simplistic football.

Football is the ultimate team sport. It isn't an any position or position group league. There are many ways to build a winning football team, not one specific blueprint. But, QB is the one position that if you have an elite player there you're going to be competitive. No matter what our record, we've always been competitive with Cam because we had am elite QB. Even when we've had a shoddy OL (his entire career), no WRs (probably half of his career), and a shoddy defense (against, probably half of his career) we've consistently been in a position to win football games because we had an elite QB.

Its especially true for us.  Our entire offense is predicated around running the ball early.  Look at this season, the superbowl.  If we dont run well in the first half our offense never takes off and we generally lose.  When we can run our offense is almost unstoppable.   I think teams have figured that out.

Doubt it, Dak is similiar to Cam but  had more time in college to become better pocket passer. Kids going to be good for longtime he might have slump but he want be held back.

We're 4th in the league in offensive yardage despite Stew missing significant time and Cam missing the Bucs game.

As much as I bitch about Shula, offense ain't the problem. Sure, situational play calling is still baffling at time, but if we had an even average defense, we'd be .500 or better right now.

Dak is doing what RGIII did as a rookie.

Cam as a rookie made legit NFL throws all season long.  From game 1 to game 16.

Dak is doing that first read small ball poo when his team isn't running the ball more than anyone else in the NFL.  RGIII made crazy simplistic throws as a rookie.  Not impressive QB play.

What man did you not watch the preseason & Greenbay game!! I have seen this kid play for 5 years in college and he is the real deal. He may not have full command of the offense or the coaches might be holding him back but he will be star.

P.S. Panthers sent Ken Dorsey to his pro day and where really interested in this kid.
