Well if Gano makes the Denver  kick we 2-4 and take back a handlful of stupid plays, keep Bene for the Saints instead of Sanchez, teddy Williams, and the battle of the stupid in Tampa and of course we are 4-2. Minni couldn't easily have been different too.

If Cam don't take a bonehead hit he plays against the Bucs and we likely blow them to pieces.. I think our only two deserved losses have been Atlanta and the Minnesota games, the rest we should of won. But shoulda woulda coulda don't get it done.

we got the 4th ranked offense in the nfl in almost top 10 in every category.      But on defense we got got the 22nd ranked defense and second to last when it comes to giving up points per game .

if our defense was better no doubt we would be a contender because statistically our offense is better in everything other than rushing yards and points per game .

The craziest part about that is we've played the two best defenses in the NFL this year and we are still top 10. As much as I hate Shula, and the o-line, and Tolbert the offense isn't the problem.

This season is a reverse microcosm of last year.

We got stupid amount of bounces last year. Led early and often.

Throw in bad penalties on 3rd down on, ahem, both sides of the ball along with turnovers.

Need to go bare minimum 8-2 to even begin to think playoffs.

I think a few teams come back to the mean and we will go under the radar and get hot.

Shula is garbage and his play calling has cost us quite a bit the last few years....run run run punt. 1st and goal throw that ball babbbyyyyyyyyyyy..............

we were 15-1 last year and lead the NFL in pts.  We are top 10 in scoring again right now and are working with the likes of Oher's backup.

Shula is the last thing people should be worried about

We're also -8 in turnover margin.  Let's not just say it's one or the other, the Offense is doing it's fair share of failing too.  Right now, on offense if they take care of the ball, then we'll score more and the defense will be put into pressure situations less.

You do know turnover margin is more dependent on the defense than it is the offense, right?

The defense can come up with takeaways, which is the most important part of a SB champion caliber team, and they can keep the opposing offense from scoring a TD following a turnover by their offense.

The rate of TDs allowed following a turnover is the most important aspect of the turnover element. The Panthers allowed 1 TD in 2015 following an offensive turnover.

Offenses will typically fall between 20 to 30 turnovers in a season. Under Rivera 23 is the highest the Panthers have been with turnovers. The goal is to have the offense under 30 turnovers on the season and the defense to have over 30 takeaways on the season.

The defense is on pace to set a franchise record low in takeaways. The drop from a league leading 39 takeaways in 2015 to what may be a franchise low 21 takeaways one year later is the biggest reason the Panthers are losing.

The defense must win the turnover battle, and they are not.

Turnovers!

The defense's lack of takeaways and inability to stop teams from scoring TDs following a turnover is the most glaring problem.
