Panthers win in New Orleans with Bene active instead of Sanchez

no worries, Gettlemen likely will use the bye week to figure out a trade that will involve sending Thomas Davis to Hou for Vince Wilfork.   Gettlemen likely has been stewing over the fact Butler wasn't available to back up our other DTs and will find another cog.   Once he perfects his DT situation everything will fall into place according to plan.

I think it was unfair that he was cut after that game against one of the top WRs in the league.

There's something else there. Both Rivera and McDermott used the line "he wasn't doing the things we asked him to do" yesterday to the media regarding Bene. That doesn't even sound like blown assignments either. Something else happened or was happening between Bene and the coaches.

I think Bene was ticked they threw him out there like that to take a failed offseason on the chin and be the posterboy.  Overnight, the story on who he was as a player was literally re-written.

You don't take guy recovering off his injury (which Ron noted the week prior) and at the last minute tell him he is going one on one Julio all game.  I think Bene was salty and let it be known about what Carolina was doing.

Frankly careers can end because coaches put guys out there in spots to fail.  Not because of inability.

I do agree that it sounded, when Ron spoke yesterday, more like player-coach conflict. To the bold, I totally agree with that.

You can bet he was not happy getting zero safety help and being hung out to dry. I am sure he let the coaches know it which is why he is no longer a Panther.

The coaches coddle Bradberry, Worley, and Sanchez. Won't let the vets blast them, and the coaches are pampering their fragile psyches. Some of the softest players I have seen in a while. The tantrums they throw or how they sulk after they get beat on a play seem to be self serving and not direct at letting the team down.

I would be pissed too if I were never afforded that treatment as a rookie on a 2014 team that was falling apart in the secondary until the rookies (Bene) stepped in and made plays.

Throwing Bene under the Julio Jones bus after Bradberry and Worley were beat bad in the 1st quarter was unacceptable. Bene is focused on nickel post recovery and the coaches throw him to the wolves to protect the fragile psyche of their rookie CBs.

he should of been unhappy.

Rivera the week prior reminded people about him recovering from his injury....and then with no prep work they put him one on one with Julio all game.  Even if you get forced to adjust because of injury to play guys on Julio who weren't prepared....you don't do what Carolina did with Bene.
