While we continue to suck, and make no moves. Packers suck, and trade for Knile Davis.

they attempted to make their team better....and moved on.

Doesnt mean they shouldn't of tried

So does that standard apply to moves we make as well?

It's okay if it fails as long as we tried?

Cause if you're that forgiving of failed attempts with other teams, seems like it ought to be the same here, right?

Sure...

But I don't think all teams put the same emphasis on trying to improve their current roster as each other.  All teams technically add and drop talent for lots of various degrees and big picture reasons

Yeah. I'm sure our team has no interest in improving their roster and winning games.

Pretty sure I didn't say that exactly....

but I don't think Dave is panicked to overly address issues that basically everyone outside of Carolina has been blasting him for....

this isn't last season, where we could pick up a Jared Allen to aid with the one flaw visible in a team rolling.

Would you want a GM to be panicked?

No.

but I believe Dave's 2016 draft was that of a panicked GM.  Dave basically did what he claimed he wouldn't and a GM shouldn't do IMO.

He just started throwing DBs on the roster after the Norman thing blew up

at this point, I simply seen nothing wrong with saying Dave didn't have a good offseason.  Maybe it is an exception or maybe it points to flaws he might have (have always said the honeymoon phase never revels the flaws and all GMs have their unique ones)

I don't see it as panicked because the draft wasn't only about this one season.

Per his own statements, Gettleman was tired of patchworking the secondary and wanted to try and  build a unit for the future.

They expected early struggles, but mistakenly thought the pass rush would be good enough to mitigate that while they were learning. So far, it hasn't, but the rookies are legitimately improving when they're healthy.

The notion that this draft is somehow awful because the rookies aren't pro ready from week one is both silly and short-sighted.
