Which one is better?

I thought they were the same except for badging

They are the same vehicle with few very subtle differences.... like the badging, headlight design and a few other minute details. And the Yukon is more expensive.

Ya seriously they're pretty much exactly the same except for the fact that the Yukon xl might have slightly more upscale trim and no 2nd row bench seat option I guess. 

Why does GM need like 40 trim levels between the Suburban, Yukon, or Escalade anyway?

I prefer the GMC line vs the Chevy.

Interior is a little nicer and the exterior typically looks better to my eye.

Up until a couple years ago, I would agree. The headlight design on the Yukon is just fugging ugly.

Yea, my latest is the older design...2012.  The new one hasn't grown on me yet.

Next up is probably a Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland edition.  Thinking of dropping back to a midsize. and giving the wife the Yukon.

FYI, I had a 2009 Tahoe LTZ loaded to the gills- had every option available except the extending running boards. Put 135k miles on it, was about ready for a full brake job and new tires and got $21,500 in trade a couple months ago, for this...

My wifey and I went out and got a Yukon XL.  My 5'2 wife is afraid of driving that thing. Our came with 22 inch wheels so even mid sized SUVs look tiny.
