Who is REALLY getting double teamed? RESULTS POSTED

Good analysis.

Also, I've hated the Ealy pick ever since it was made. Gettleman yet again reached and was a WTF pick. I so wanted to double dip on WRs and either grab Robinson or Landry (both of whom were still available). Then we wouldn't have had to trade up for Funchess the next year. It all had a trickle down effect.

Nice work and good thread.

We went from one of the best secondaries in the league last year to probably the worst in the league now. This causes extra strain on the rest of the defense and is at least a part of why the whole D is not performing like we saw last year.

Tillman while aging was still was an above average 2nd corner. Norman was the best corner in the game. This made Coleman better as well. Harper was the weakest link but the talent around him compensated for his shortcomings.

Our top 3 corners and only capable SS we had are all gone. 0 vet corners were brought in to compensate. I know we finally signed a safety and hopefully that helps. However the result we see on the field directly reflects the massive turnover that took place in the secondary this offseason.

Rivera may be able to eventually scheme around it and the new bunch may begin to gel together at some point. However the talent and experience is not there to duplicate what we had last year.

But, but, but... we had a 1st round grade on him.  That seems to always be the story with our 2nd round pick.

The goal is to always have your DEs doubled more than your DTs. If the DEs are not doubled they should be shooting down the LoS and closing quickly while containing. They should be destroying the edge without double teams.

What a failure by the front office.

What?  Elite outside pass rushers will often get chipped by a TE or RB, but true double teams by offensive linemen are almost always reserved for DTs.

Gettleman is horrible at the draft

lol

Ealy was mentioned as a possible 1st rounder leading up to the draft.

You know, its OK to criticize a pick ex post facto.  We all do it.  But, if you're going to do it, at least try not to make up poo.

Here's a little hint for you:

In the defense that we run?  Which is primarily a zone scheme?  You got it *totally* backwards, baw.
