So everyone feels our 1 technique guys are more of a threat in the passing game, than anyone else.  fuging sad...

Pretty much the standard. You double the biggest guy.

The only time this is not the case is when a team has a really good pass rusher. Thus, teams are not doing it against the Panthers.

I see two Bucs 1-2 steps from being wide open and not a panther within 10 feet of their QB.

I see the Bucs with 7 blockers and us rushing 4. It's kinda hard to get to the QB like that. I guess we figured that our DB's couldn't guard their WR's, so we'd drop more in coverage.

In light of Kyle Love's comments about KK Short, I am thinking I may have been too hard on him.

So, I am rewatching the Bucs game on NFL Gamepass coaches film and counting who is double teamed on passing downs! How fun!

Update: All done.

Here are my results

Passing downs against Tampa Bay

i have a pretty credible source, or at least what I consider to be one, that told me that there has been some panthers locker room turmoil over some players wanting to kneel/protest and another group of players/coaches not allowing it to happen. I'm just curious if you had any insight into that. I didn't want to start a thread about it, cause I think we all know where that thread would end up, so I figured I would ask you here

The only reason I bring it up in this thread is, if it is indeed true, it could explain the lack of focus/poor performance of some of the players.

Thanks zod! Props for this and cam thread. Even though it doesn't work, don't fear the truth!

Just to add to seemed EARLY on during the first two games, KK was getting far more attention.

Now onto the saddnes...... The best current DLmen are Edwards(wavier claim been on 5 teams in 3yrs), love(wavied at 53), and star(not playing at stars level, but better than the others).

Others have had a couple good moments-cj been OK against the run in spots, ealy pressure, etc. Still overall what was looked as a top group, it's been the biggest disappointment on the season for me. Eric Washington should be placed in the blame too. Just awful.

so how do you scheme around a defensive line that gets no push and a secondary littered with players who for talent and experience reasons can't cover?

this is the most horrifying thing ive seen on the internet since i stumbled across the goat man as a child

This is Ron's defense...

Right?

Literally there's no excuse. Our once elite DLine men have regressed. Gettleman or any roster builder had NOTHING to do with this. Nothing. Nothing explains how the SAME DTs from last year have regressed to this state. Nothing explains how much KK has regressed to where he is now. This is sad. Like there's nothing we could've done about it. I don't know if it's lack of focus, discipline, effort, or whatnot. Regressing talent when there should be talent is something no one could be ready for. I really hate to say it, but it's obvious the main problem is the players themselves. From aiming at a $15m contract last offseason, to now having insanely low sack and pressure rates with few doubles, triples, and losing on 1v1 matchups. No explanation to this at all.

Very very concerning.

The explanation could be very easy. I think he's been playing to not get hurt in hopes of a big payday on the open market at the end of the season.

Wonder what the other games work out like? Maybe he just had an off night.
