Possibly being out of shape, and even not as familiar with the plays, system as much any more, etc are all why the NFL needs to consider expanding the main and practice squad rosters.  With so many injuries and teams commonly havinge to pull guys back off the street we would have a better overall product across the league if more of these guys were able to continue practicing, etc throughout the season; instead of being cut/released and sitting at home.

I agree wholeheartedly. The game would benefit greatly from this.

Swing and a miss.

If you think signing WES HORTON off a couch is an admirable way to "somehow win games", then good for you.

Who else can we get "off a couch" that might possibly help?

Or are you satisfied with the status quo?

Wait, wait... I know.  You were probably able to get Von Miller in a trade on XBox for a future 2nd rounder?  Right?  Am I close?

My original comment refers to a combination of recent moves, not just Horton.  But thanks for your input along with the heavily recycled/overused Madden reference.

I don't know what gave you the impression I'm happy with the current 'stat quo'.  I just was hoping the coaches would try more in game adjustments and things of that nature instead of shuffling cats in and out like a deck of cards.

Keep rocking that cape though.  Panthers can do no wrong ever.

Wash rinse repeat...over and over and over. Frustrating as hell

I agree, but that's probably the only thing that we can do at this point. The fact that we're signing a DE that we keep cutting when there are no injuries at the position to speak of says something (and it's not really good).

Actually, I think they have done all of the in game adjustments they can. What we have is a team where about half of the starters are performing at about half their levels from last year. Some of them aren't even close and we've already seen one guy (Bene) get fired because he wasn't in football shape.

Firing a couple of guys and bringing some motivated folks in off the streets may be the only thing left. It's not like the '85 Bears are out there waiting by the phone for a trade offer.

That's a fair way to look at it.
